Considered to be Dhamrai’s ‘Workspace for Metal Arts and Crafts’, this part of history is clearly mirrored in each metal work created in Dhamrai.
The craftsmen in the Dhamrai region utilize four conventional handmade techniques, the lost wax method, clay casting, sand casting and hammering. Of these, the ancient wax method is highly intricate and only a small number of artisans still employ it. A brief explanation of the lost wax model is given further below in this article.
