“Enchanting Dhampus Village in Pokhara - Dhampus is an ethnic Gurung Village which is just outskirt of busy tourism city Pokhara. It is a great idea to set out for a short day hiking or just going for tours by private vehicles. It lies in one part of Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). You can enjoy the beautiful landscape, peaceful nature and majestic Himalaya range of Annapurna, Fishtail, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri. The village is also famous for homestay where you can spend a night to observe cultural dance and taste local food.” - Reviewed on 2024-09-15

“Incredible Day Trek hiking just outside of Pokhara - I made a last minute plan to check out Pokhara and wasn’t sure the best way to spend my 2 days. I knew I wanted to do a trek so linkage tours suggested I do this Day trek to see Australian camp and Dhampus village. I was picked up at my hotel the next morning by Bidur, my guide, and driven up to the trailhead. There we set off climbing up a steep grade but on a well established path that was mostly steps. Bidur was a great guide, very kind, interesting, knowledgeable, and helpful. We had a delicious lunch up at the lodge at Australian camp. It was clouded over so no panoramic views of the mountains but the dramatic hillsides and terraced rice paddies more than made up for that. I was there beginning of October and strangely enough only saw one or two other trekking groups which was great to have the trail to ourselves. We descended down into Dhampus and walked through the beautiful mountain village hearing kids play in school and seeing more views of the valley as we came out of the clouds. We finished the trek with a LOT of steps descending down into another part of Dhampus where we got to walk through some rice fields on a really nice path and saw some of the locals hanging outside their houses. We ended the trek super happy and a little tired but there was a car waiting for us to take us back to Pokhara. Highly recommend this hike for anyone passing through Pokhara! and ask for Bidur - he is an awesome guide!” - Reviewed on 2023-10-06
