Highlights
  • Citadelle de Dinant - In the Walloon city of Dinant in the Belgian province of Namur, stands the stronghold known as the Citadel of Dinant (French: Citadelle de Dinant). On the same place, while the area was governed by the Prince-Bishopric of Liège in 1051, a fortification was first constructed. The current fort was constructed there in 1815. The Meuse river, which strategically flows through the town of Dinant, is seen from the citadel. The whole population is welcome.
The so-called Meuse Citadels include the Citadel of Dinant, Huy, Liège, and Namur.
  • Maison de Monsieur Sax - Sax is shown in brass on a bench-like position at the front of the house. Earthenware titles adorn the door. The ceiling and wall have several museum-quality artworks placed. Additionally, an interactive men’s high book that educates visitors to the saxophone’s life has been used to overcome the floor space restrictions. Visitors are educated via pictures on a screen and given the opportunity to listen to a range of saxophones playing music in a variety of musical genres. It is free to access the facility every day. There aren’t any planned formal visits. With your personal guide, you are welcome to go in groups.
  • Church of Our Lady - The Collegiate Church of Our Lady (French: Collégiale Notre Dame de Dinant) is a 13th-century Gothic cathedral in Dinant, a city in Waloon Belgium, on the banks of the River Meuse. The collegiate church replaced a 10th-century Romanesque church which collapsed in 1228, leaving only the North door. Its most iconic part is the separate 16th century pear-shaped bell tower.
  • Charles-de-Gaulle Bridge - The Charles de Gaulle bridge now features 28 saxophones that were installed in 2010. One saxophone is painted in the likeness of a basketball, another resembles a mermaid, and a third shows a castle and a dragon. The position of each saxophone in front of the corresponding flag honours the nation it represents.
  • Grotte La Merveilleuse - On the route from Philippeville to Dinant in the Belgian province of Namur, there is a tourist cave called La Merveilleuse. A total of 850 metres of galleries make up the cave, of which 650 metres are open to the public.
It has various non-visitable rooms, including the “Glaciers” room, the “Great room” (also known as the “Cascades”) room, and the “Paradise” chamber.
The cave also has a river beneath, whose level may occasionally increase by approximately eight metres, in addition to these rooms.
There are 100 bats living in the “Great Hall” throughout the winter.

Good tour - Katilu was very knowledgeable and helpful. She is thoughtful and very kind. Some train issues (tend to have cancellations and bus detours on the weekend for upgrades).but Katilu made it work.
