• Slea Head Drive - Rahinnane Castle: Starting in Dingle, the journey follows the picturesque Slea Head Drive through the countryside, passing Ventry’s deep-water natural harbor. The tour includes a visit to Rahinnane Castle, a 15th-century tower house within an ancient ringfort. Entry is €2 per person.

• Cross at Slea Head - Beehive Huts & Hold a Baby Lamb: After Rahinnane Castle, the tour continues along Slea Head Drive to Slea Head, featuring ancient structures like beehive huts and stone ring forts. “Hold a baby lamb” is a popular activity, with visits to beehive huts and a ring fort. The fee is €4 per person for this experience.

• Coumeenoole Beach - Near a Star Wars filming location on Dunmore Head, Coumeenoole Strand is perfect for photography or relaxing by the water’s edge. The beach offers stunning views of the rugged coastline, especially at low tide, making it a favorite spot on the tour.

• Dun Chaoin Pier - The iconic winding path to Dunquin Pier, once the departure point for Great Blasket Island settlers, is now used by tripper boats. The path offers breathtaking views from the cliff top, with the option to descend for photos from lower vantage points.

• Clogher Strand - At Clogher Head, enjoy panoramic views of the Dingle Peninsula’s western edge, including the 2016 Star Wars filming location at Sybil Head.

• Gallarus Oratory - A scenic 15-minute drive leads to the 8th-century Gallarus Oratory, showcasing a remarkable example of ancient stone architecture.

• Kilmalkedar Church - This 12th-century Romanesque church, built on an earlier monastic site, features a unique standing stone with ogham script and a “needle hole.” Nearby are a stone cross, St. Brendan’s House, and excellent views of the church in the rural landscape. The area also includes the Keelers, a bullaun stone, a cross-marked well, and the ancient stone ring fort at Caherdorgan, along with St. Brendan’s Oratory ruins.

• Dingle - After visiting Kilmalkedar Church, enjoy a 15-minute scenic drive back to Dingle for a lunch break in this historic maritime and fishing town.

• Dingle Peninsula - Post-lunch, explore the historical and cultural sites east of Dingle, including a famine tower, a medieval stone bridge, and a hilltop grotto above Dingle Bay. The journey through narrow lanes offers stunning scenery and leads to Minard Castle.

• Minard Castle - Considered one of Ireland’s most scenic castles, it sits by a stream flowing into Dingle Bay. Explore various views from the boulder beach and walk on the sand if the tide permits.

During this Heritage tour around the Dingle Peninsula we discover and explore many significant sites as we travel though spectacular scenery. As well as improving your overall photography and composition with any camera or phone, I’m more than happy to use my own photo skills to take amazing photos of you in the gorgeous backdrop of the Dingle Peninsula.
