A nice escape from the hustle and bustle of HCMC - Our tour guide Dat and our driver were a great team in accommodating our group and making sure we were well taken care of. The tour was very well thought out and there never moments where we were waiting around or wanting to get on with the tour. Dat is very informative and guests should be encouraged to ask him about the Vietnamese culture, lots of interesting insights!

Simple perfect! - This was a unique and immersive experience in the backroads of this so beautiful region. Our guide "Dat" was exceptionally attentive to our needs and security. During this 25km ride, we had the pleasure to small family business growing cocoa beans, nat knitters, we also had lunch in a local family home along the way. I am just simply happy all over with this intimate experience (4 people), i highly recommend.

Perfect spot to cycle - We had such an incredible time on this tour with Quyen/Vicky. We love cycling but have ended up on motorbikes most of our time here in Vietnam. The Mekong Delta was the perfect place to cycle, on small paths through the countryside bordered by fruit orchards and rice fields. Vicky is from the Mekong Delta and it felt like she was showing us around her home. We visited a family making mats and also a cacao farm. Both were family run and so welcoming. We really recommend this trip for a one day relaxing trip out of the city to see the Mekong! Cycling is the best way to experience it!

We had wonderful time. - What a great tour on bike of the farms and countryside of the Mekond Delta. We were greeted with hellos from most homes we rode by. Dat was a very knowledgeable guide who answered all our questions and stopped frequently to show us interesting farms, vegetation and even a local wedding. The bikes were in excellent shape and he made sure we were well hydrated and taken care of the whole time. I highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful experience with family - We just did this tour with 10 people. 4 adults, 3 teenagers and a 10, 9, 7 year old. We left HCMC at 7:15 AM (from District 2) and returned around 6:00 pm. It’s a full/great day! We have done other Grasshopper tours (Hoi An) and love it. Always professional, guides and fun, creative and good communicators in English. The tour covers about 18 miles of riding through the delta with visits to a few highlights. We have been living in VN 3 years and been to Mekong probably 6 times and the shops and stops we visited on this tour were new and unique to us (off the beaten path). Totally recommend this.

Offbeaten path to explore delta mekong - We spent our Christmas 2019 exploring delta Mekong by bicycle. Dat was our tour guide. Speaks very fluent English and he guided us well (a group of six, all adults). Enjoyed our time soaking in the local culture, visiting the mat, cocoa, paddy fields and served local home cooked meals. Love it!

Simply the Best!! - Best bike tour I've ever done - hands-down. This is my second tour with Grasshopper and they are simply the most creative professional and seasoned tour operator I've seen in Asia We toured the Mekong Delta on a full day bike tour with Thang. He was a seasoned experienced guide who had developed the route. The equipment was top notch and personally prepared for you. He picked us up right on time and was incredibly knowledgeable and interested to talk about the history of Vietnam. We drove for an hour and half to get out into the delta. Once there, we drive on cement bike paths just like the locals. We must have stopped six+ times to visit local families / handicrafts. I've often done these tours where they are "selling you" their handicrafts -- that didn't happen once. The locals were proud to let you sample their food or just chat but didn't want anything in return -- they were friends with Thang. Great way to see the local beauty and feel of village life in the Delta. And a great variety of transport -- we took a ferry across the river, toured the market and sampled fruit, took a boat on the river. The best part was that on the whole tour, we never saw another tourist -- this truly was a private adventure. Lots of good exercise -- we biked about 15 miles. All of it was flat but you have to be ready to exercise. Highly recommended!! I continue to be amazed by Grasshopper --- they consistently do an outstanding job on their tours. A step above the rest

Great introduction to farming life in the Mekong Delta - I had a thoroughly enjoyable day trip with our guide, Klas, and a family of 4. Over the course of a couple of hours, we pedaled 28 km through the back "roads" of the Mekong Delta, through mostly farming country. The "roads" vary from 0.5-meter-wide dirt tracks to ~1.5-meter-wide concrete lanes. The cycling is very easy, because it is dead flat. Nevertheless, you will be sharing the lanes with the occasional farmer on a scooter and school children on bikes and scooters. The people you will be sharing the road with will realize you are a tourist and take appropriate precautions! As you ride, every school child (and many adults) within shouting distance will yell "Hello," so you will feel warmly greet.d The path ranges from tree-shaded lanes to rice fields to the world's shortest ferry ride. We pulled over relatively frequently so the guide can point out various crops (rice, jackfruit, durian, dragonfruit, etc.), and there were a number of short stops to see mat weaving, a cacao "plantation," and the like. Overall, I had a great day. Our guide was very knowledgeable, both about the Mekong in particular but also about various facets of life in Vietnam.
