Berat Castle - Founded back in the 4th century B.C, Berat presents a remarkable history through different ages from ancient Illyrians to Roman Empire, Byzantine to Ottoman Empire. Berat castle is one of oldest and largest in Albania. The walking tour takes you around the medieval churches, ruins of the ancient castle and you will admire the views of Mount Tomorr and Mount Shpirag.
Berat - Your guide will take you on a walking tour through the narrow cobblestone streets and get familiar with the local lifestyle. You will visit the medieval centre in Mangalem, Gorica bridge, and Gorica quarter.

Additional Information

This day-long tour commences either from Tirana or Durres. You’ll meet your local guide and proceed to the Karavasta Lagoon, the biggest in the nation, famous for hosting 5% of the global population of the highly endangered and scarce species, the Dalmatian pelican. A boat ride inside the lagoon allows for the appreciation of diverse bird species. Subsequently, we embark on a walk near the Adriatic coast for a birdwatching experience in the national park.
The journey carries on towards the renowned Berat Castle. As you stroll within the castle, admire the quaint lanes and traditional homes. From a vantage point, you can marvel at the stunning view of the old town.
Your guide will introduce you to the Mangalem district and let you explore the medieval heart of the town, walk by the Osumi River, and capture stunning photographs of the Gorica Bridge. The distinctive charm of these areas has earned Berat the recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage city.
The tour concludes with a return to your hotel surroundings.

Excellent - We were contacted the day before directly by our driver / tour guide; Taulant. We were provided with very clear instructions where to be picked up from, the driver was bang on time. There were 5 of us on the tour in total, Taulant was very good at making sure everyone was included. We had great weather, John the pelican was magnificent, the boat tour was very enjoyable. Berat was beautiful and managed to get some excellent photos of the castle and the town. Overall an excellent day and would certainly recommend. 10/10 to Taulant.
