Highlights
  • Cheorwon-gun - 1. Visit to the DMZ Cheorwon Peace Center
Register your vehicle’s license number and the names of all visitors. Unlike the 3rd Tunnel DMZ tour, you don’t need to switch to a group tourist bus; you can visit using your own vehicle.
  1. The 2nd Tunnel was discovered on March 24, 1975. Excavation began after two soldiers reported hearing explosions during their sentry duty on November 20, 1973. The 2nd Tunnel is twice as long and deep as the 3rd Tunnel. Visitors can explore inside the tunnel up to the endpoint, which is 300 meters away from the Military Demarcation Line.

  2. Cheorwon Peace Observatory
Visitors can take a monorail to the top of the observatory to view the ecosystem, the Battle of Blood Ridge (where 1,250 North Korean soldiers and 1,030 South Korean soldiers lost their lives in a fierce battle), Kim Il-sung’s Highland (where he cried for three days after losing the Cheorwon land), the fortress of Gung-Ye Castle Town, Pyeonggang Tableland, and the Propaganda Town of North Korea in the DMZ.

  3. Woljeongri Station
Behind the station building, the wreckage of a train bombed during the Korean War remains. The train was used by the North Korean army and was bombed by U.N. forces.

Additional Information

We will visit the DMZ Crane Peace Center (for registration before entering the DMZ), the 2nd Tunnel, Cherwon Peace Observatory, and Woljeongri Station.

Travelers will have a memorable experience, gain great history lessons, and feel the emotions many Koreans have about their desire for reunification. This trip is educational for both adults and children. Every year, many young Korean students visit the DMZ to learn lessons from the Cold War era.

Unlike other DMZ tours, visitors don’t need to switch to a group tour bus. We will enter the civilian-controlled area with our own vehicle and follow the lead vehicle in a single file. The DMZ has been untouched by humans for over 70 years.

This area is wonderfully preserved and has become home to migratory birds, cranes, and other animals.

At the Cherwon Observatory, visitors can save energy by taking the monorail to the top of the mountain.
