In this tour, we will focus on visiting the local market in more detail and without rushing. You will see things you won’t find on regular city tours. Souq Waqif is one of Qatar’s most important tourist attractions due to its importance to citizens and residents alike. This market contains many goods such as fabric and jewelry stores, perfume and spice stores, pet stores, falcons, and Arabian horses. We will also take you on this tour to enjoy the delicious local food of Qatar.
- Dress code: cover your knees and shoulders, regardless of whether you are male or female/ Don’t wear anything see-through.
- Souq waqif local market: Most shops operate from 10:00 am. to noon. Re-open at 4 p.m. till 10 p.m. Fridays only afternoon.

A magical tour of Qatar with Ali, a lovely guide, and a traditional and delicious lunch! - Ali was an excellent guide! He went way beyond taking me to the souq and the museum, which he did with care and kindness. He also shared insights into how life is in Doha — their strong family ties, respect for one another, their country, and their word. We shared a delicious traditional lunch (ask for the banana, bread, and cheese dessert!) Ali welcomed all questions and is very well educated and informed, and we enjoyed talking about some of the cultural differences between our countries, but most of all the similarities in people and the things we have in common all over the world. I’m looking forward to coming back with my family and spending even longer with Ali, seeing what Qatar is all about. I highly recommend Ali and would encourage people to ask for him!

A Wonderful Evening - This was a fantastic tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the area! Ali was a wonderful guide with a great personality. I went with two friends. He spent time showing us the traditional Souq Waqif and some of the traditional art crafts. He showed us traditional food and answered our many questions. We enjoyed walking around and experiencing this authentic part of the city.

Wonderful tour of Souq Waqif! - Wonderful tour of the souq and surrounding neighborhood. Ali was a great tour guide, very informative of the area and tailored the tour to our interests. We got to see a variety of shops, including a pearl jewelry store and a glassblowing shop, as well as the horse, camel, and falcon areas. The food and chai was so good. Definitely recommend!

The Perfect Doha Souq & Food Tour with Ali - This tour was so incredible! I would do it again tomorrow! Ali was personable, knowledgeable, kind, funny, and a wonderful host.
I traveled with two of my girlfriends, and we were all comfortable and having the best time. The conversation never lulled. It was a lot of walking, which was great!
I loved it all. My favorite parts were trying the food, seeing all the unique areas of the Souqs, and chatting with Ali about all things Qatar and the culture.
Definitely would recommend this tour to anyone! Thank you for a fantastic evening!

Great experience - Amir gave us a great tour through the souq. He took us to see the falcons, camels and horses and explained the lifestyle. It was very interesting. He took us through much of ghe douq where we saw the locals at work. We had a delicious meal at a local restaurant.

Doha El Gameela - Came to Qatar to do a quick 3 day trip after coming from Egypt. I booked this excursion for as soon as i landed and it was a great plan with a settled itinerary. Junaid was an exceptional tour guide, knowledgeable and friendly, making my trip informative and enjoyable. He even spent extra time for me so I could make sure to see the Islamic museum as much as I wanted. Doha, with its stunning skyline, cultural landmarks, and vibrant souks, was a beautiful and captivating city to explore and Junaid.

Fun time in the Souk with Ali! - Ali was our guide, and he was charming, knowledgeable and fun. We walked through most of the Souk, stopping in stall after stall where Ali explained the merchandise, it’s source, its purposes and lots of background history and culture. We visited the falcon market and learned the importance of falconry in the Qatari culture. We gorged on kebabs and hummus, finishing off with Arabic ice cream. It was a very pleasant evening with lots of laughs and lots of learning. Highly recommend!
