- Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Following that, you will visit the Forbidden City, which is closed on Mondays. This site is among the world’s most extensive and best-preserved palace complexes. It served as the residence of emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties from 1368 to 1912. The Forbidden City was home to 24 emperors across these dynasties. The complex’s most magnificent structures include the Taihe Hall, Zhonghe Hall, and Baohe Hall, with over 9,000 rooms maintained to this day.
