- Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - After enjoying a delightful local lunch at a Chinese restaurant, head to the Summer Palace, a retreat for members of the Imperial family. Take a leisurely stroll by the lake as your tour guide shares the history and stories of the area, including a visit to the room where Empress Dowager Cixi once lived. The long corridor is another highlight of the Summer Palace, perfect for capturing stunning photos.
Afterward, you will be taken to XI ZHI MEN station to bid farewell to your guide. Your guide will assist you in finding a taxi or subway back to your hotel (cost not included).
- Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Visit the Forbidden City after the Temple of Heaven. Enter through the South Meridian Gate and spend a few hours discovering the imperial palace, which was the residence of emperors and the ceremonial and political hub of the Chinese government.
Learn about the Ming and Qing dynasties, which ruled for approximately 500 years. Explore the southern section (the Outer Court), where the emperor wielded his supreme power, and then move to the northern section (the Inner Court), where he lived with his royal family.

Excellent experience. Thank you - Joseph was our guide and went above and beyond. Not only was he very knowledgeable in sharing the history of all the places we went and tell us great stories but he was very attentive to our needs. For lunch he asked us what we wanted to eat (didn't take us to a friend with a kick back) and then took us to a local place. He ordered for us and even went to another nearby shop to get our preferred beverage. After our tour was over he even helped us find something else to do and then personally escorted us across the city to the show. Best of all, there was no pressure to buy anything or stops at shops.
We really enjoyed our day and highly recommend Joseph.

Great day - We had a great tour with May. She explains a lot and is very kind. All entrances were included and she arranged everything. Even the lunch was very good. We highly recommend a tour with May!

The best way to get to know old Beijing in one day - Due to our short stay in Beijing, we were looking for a tour that would include the most important locations to visit. This tour fulfilled all our expectations because during the one-day tour we had the opportunity to get acquainted with the rich architecture and way of life of the Chinese dynasties throughout the centuries.

Great tour with a great hostess - Angela was extremely knowledgable and friendly for our group and shared countless interesting facts about the sites we visited. And she planned ahead and came to the event well supplied. I'd say it was well worth the cost.

Wonderful guide and tour! - Our guide Sherry met us right on time at our hotel as scheduled. Although this was described as a mini group tour, my partner and I were the only two that booked, so we had a private tour from Sherry. We found Sherry to be very knowledgeable about the Ming Tombs and Summer Palace. She provided us with very interesting information about both places throughout the day. Both places offer beautiful locations and architecture. Our guide also took us to a great local restaurant for lunch, and she chose several authentic Chinese dishes for a delicious and plentiful lunch. On a personal note, Sherry was so incredibly warm and friendly to us, and made the day a special experience for us. We mentioned that we were traveling in Beijing for my birthday. A few days later, Sherry came back to our hotel to drop off a few small birthday presents for me. She was so incredibly thoughtful and really made our tour with her very memorable. We highly recommend her as a guide, and this tour for anyone traveling to Beijing.
