In 1744, during the ninth year of Emperor Qianlong’s reign, it was transformed into a Lama Temple, with Prime Minister’s Affairs Minister Wang overseeing its operations without a fixed staff. This temple represented the pinnacle of Buddhist temples during the mid to late Qing Dynasty in China. In 1983, the State Council recognized Yonghe Temple as a national key Buddhist temple in Han regions. The temple features three beautifully crafted memorial archways and a grand hall with five entrances. Spanning 66,400 square meters, it includes over 1,000 palaces, from the east and west memorial archways with their wooden cornice architecture to the traditional east and west mountain buildings. Established during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, it boasts a 300-year history.
