The walk from the entrance to the birch forest takes about 1 hour (3.2km). A round trip generally takes about 1.5 hours, including time for photos. The birch trees’ unique branch structure and white bark are visible year-round, but the scene is especially breathtaking in winter when their white color blends with the snow.

As we venture into the forest, we’ll begin to notice birch trees adorned in their signature white bark. Just as we start to feel a bit warm from the hike, we’ll be greeted by the expansive view of the Whispering Birch Forest.
Winter in Korea, particularly in Gangwondo Province, can be quite cold for those unaccustomed to such climates. We recommend dressing warmly with gloves, thick socks, and most importantly, crampons are essential for entering the forest. If you don’t have your own, we can provide crampons on site.
