Exception food tour, and I’ve done a lot - Mike is a “foodie” who eats at all the eateries in Seoul, so he can give you the best of the best. He will also give recommendations for other areas of Seoul, or other types of food not covered in tour. Be ready to be adventurous in your culinary delights. We toured a market, eating the best of the best, both sweet & savory, as well as several restaurants. We got some food history along with discussions about what makes particular dishes exceptional versus good. In addition to food Mike gave us a Makgeoll, rice wine, tasting. Just like grape based wine, there are are many different types of Makgeolli. Later at a restaurant we ordered Makgeolli with our meal & I never would have if I had not been educated by Mike. Highly recommend this tour for adventurous foodies who love local cuisines.

Great Food Tour by Mike! - Mike gave a great tour in and around the Gwangjang Market area! He was very knowledgeable about the market, food, history, and culture and led us to some great spots! The food was excellent, and different than what we could have found on our own. The rice wine tasting was unique and very cool as well! Mike was also willing and happy to share with us additional recommendations for places to eat in the areas we were interested in, and his recommendations for BBQ and traditional korean were excellent as well!

Fun indulgence of local food and drink - As advertised. Mike has all the best spots picked out as you weave around the food and drink areas of Seoul. You will not be disappointed and surely you will be stuffed. Wide variety of foods and drink. The rice wine tasting was an unexpected treat. Our group was a lot of fun. Highly recommend!

The best food-tasting tour so far. - A five-hour trip with lots of exciting food and drinks. The best food-tasting trip so far. Started at the food market and then continued to various small local places tucked away in small alleys. Can absolutely be recommended. Our guide did an excellent job, and with lots of knowledge.

Informative and fun food adventure - Summary: Fun food tour with a very passionate (and particular with food) guide Enjoyed my ~5h tour with Mike who took us on an adventure around Gwangjang market and around the Jongno 3 area. We sampled many dishes over the afternoon/evening and got an explanation about the history of the market and some of the stories of the food/stalls there. Mike has tried every single food stall in the market and is particular about saying which one is good vs not in his opinion. I appreciated that a lot and would recommend this to others! As someone who isn’t a stranger to Korean food, this was fun because you sample less typical Korean food and things that aren’t as easy to find elsewhere. Among the many things we sampled: mung bean pancakes, “drug kimbap,” walnut cake, Korean beef tartare, octopus (raw and still moving), makgeolli, fried chicken, grilled beef heart, dried fish snack, etc. Things that might be helpful to others: - This is not the tour for you if you are not an adventurous eater or if you have many dietary restrictions - Meeting point is at the exit of the subway station (on the outside/street side at the top of the stairs) - Our group was 5 (smaller group) and we used 43k won per person so I would bring at least 50k won just in case - There is an outdoor-ish stop in one of those roadside seating area restaurants near Jongno 3 so dress warmly in cold weather - Booking sites like Airbnb or Viator take a cut out of Mike’s tour costs so better to book directly if you want to support a small business - I think his website is “It’s Seoul Good”

Great food and drinks through the streets of Seoul with a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. - Mike was a great tour guide with a vast knowledge of Korean and other cuisine. He had very interesting insight into the food we were eating and food recommendations that I normally wouldn’t eat, that took me a bit out of my comfort zone. It was a great tour for anyone who wants to try some more traditional Korean food/ drinks but doesn’t know where to start!

LOVED this tour!! - Mike was an amazing tour guide and showed us some real gems in Seoul. We didn’t realize food wasn’t included, but honestly the tour was so great that we didn’t mind paying for the food. Mike is personable and gave us recommendations on more food to try on our trip! We always do a food tour while traveling in a new country but I think this one is def our top 3! Highly recommend

Great guide - What can I say. Except you can feel the passion for food the guide has. He took us to many places I never would have found on my own. And we tried many dishes. It was a little bit of everything just what I wanted. His knowledge about the food was amazing. I was able to check off many things in wanted to do in Korea off my list. And made many new friends, also on the tour. Can not highly recommend enough.

Amazing food tour! - I had a wonderful food tour! We sampled many different dishes and learned about some of the food and drinking culture in Seoul as well. I would highly recommend this tour when you’re in Seoul!
