Amazing variety of starfish - The most amazing experience to see such a variety of colourful starfish. Our tourguide, Saed, made such an effort to make it a memorable experience. Please contact him directly if you want an amazing snorkel experience here. +255 779008784 He also provided the most delicious fresh fruits - pineapple, coconut, avocado and watermellon, which he cut right there on the boat on the water.

Too many boats! - This dive site will not last. It will be destroyed by over use by cheap snorkelling boats, destructive anchor placement and lack of tourist education. It’s quite easy to get to via a short boat ride 8-10 seater launch but the you get there. There are a dozen other launches doing the same thing - anchoring on the “reef” and dumping tourists over the side. Tourists who can’t use their equipment properly, who handle and stand on what little coral there is. The coral looks in very poor shape but there are plenty of small fish feeding on the sea grass. I did manage to see a couple of octopus fighting but was nearly run over by an outboard engine. Too many boats, too many tourists makes for an unhappy visitor and an abuse of nature and an unsustainable tourist attraction.
