Highlights
  • Portland Castle - Portland Castle is the starting and finishing point and participants can either explore before or after the tour. You can walk around castle or go in and explore.
  • Portland Bill Lighthouse - Portland Bill Lighthouse has been standing majestically for the past one hundred and fourteen years at a height of 41 metres (135 ft). The distinctive red and white tower first shone its famous four flashes of light every twenty seconds on 11 January 1906 and had a range of 25 nautical miles which has guided passing vessels through the hazardous waters around Portland Bill as well as acting as a way mark for ships navigating the English Channel. You will be able to walk around or enter the lighthouse during the stop.
  • Tout Quarry Sculpture Park and Nature Reserve - Tout Quarry Nature Reserve and Sculpture Park is an abandoned stone quarry which has now been turned into a stone sculpture park. Now one of Portland’s most popular attractions, you can discover over 60 hidden sculptures in the Quarry, such as Anthony Gormley’s ‘Still Falling’ sculpture and enjoy the stunning views over Chesil Beach and Portland Harbour. The park is also a haven for nature especially for those with a love of wild flowers and butterflies. You can walk around and take lovely pictures.
  • Rufus Castle - Rufus Castle, also known as Bow and Arrow Castle, is a partially ruined castle overlooking Church Ope Cove on Portland, England. Its name derives from King William II, known as William Rufus, for whom the original castle was built. The existing structure dates largely from the late 15th century, making it Portland’s oldest castle. Built on a pinnacle of rock, some of the original structure has been lost to erosion and collapse over the years. At this stop you can walk around and enjoy the lovely scenery and we will also have lunch.
  • Cave Hole - Cave Hole is a large cave on the south east side of the Isle of Portland, a large peninsular in Dorset, England. It has a blowhole and a wooden crane, known as Broad Ope Crane on the cliff top. It is 1⁄2 mile (800 m) north-east of Portland Bill, has an interior measuring 50 feet (15 m) square and 21 feet (6.4 m) high. At this stop you can walk around and if lucky see the see water blown through the blowhole.
  • Chesil Beach - Chesil Beach in Dorset, England is one of three major shingle beach structures in Britain. Its name is derived from the Old English ceosel or cisel, meaning “gravel” or “shingle”. It runs for a length of 29 kilometres from West Bay to the Isle of Portland and in places is up to 15 metres high and 200 metres wide. At this stop you can walk along the beach enjoying the unique landscape. Please note that the duration of all tours are different because of so many variables, some groups like to stay longer at some attractions, others make take longer with lunch, others might cycle a bit faster or slower, etc. This makes each tour in its own way bespoke for our participants.

A wonderful way to see the sights of Portland! - My husband and I would 100% recommend this tour!! So fun and Michelle and Peter were awesome. Sooo much better than sitting on a bus looking out the window! The views were beautiful!! We felt very safe and cared for… we are 65 and we’re a little concerned about of our biking abilities… but it all went so well! Michelle took some great pictures of all us and shared them with us at the end of our trip. They treated us to a great lunch by the shore and bought us a tasty drink at a pub at the end of our tour. So fun… you should definitely take this excursion!

Highly recommend! - Amazing guides. Michelle and Peter were very knowledgeable about the area. They were very kind and considerate of our needs. The last time i rode A bike was 10 years ago so i was Quite rusty. But Michelle and Peter made sure we rode at a comfortable pace. Safety was their #1 concern. They offered snacks and water throughout the ride and we were able to stop for a delicious lunch. Although the day was cloudy, the views were still breathtaking. Michelle and Peter were very patient. Michelle even took a lot of pictures on her phone and we were able to transfer it to ours. Highly recommend this tour.

Amazing views by E-Bike! - This E-Bike Tour is a must for cruise ship passengers that dock in Portland! Peter and Michelle are amazing hosts who are personable, kind, well organized, very experienced tour guides and are expert cyclists. Your safety is their priority! They will take you on a unique journey around Portland with stunning views, interesting historical places and they even treat you to a tea break and lunch break at local eating spots. Many of the sites Michelle and Peter take you to are not likely to be seen on a typical cruise ship shore excursion. The pace and terrain is comfortable and is suitable for all ages. Peter's and Michelle's knowledge of the area and history add interest to this trek. Communication from booking to finding the starting place was accurate, courteous and professional from first contact. My adult children and spouse loved this adventure and we will take part again if we are ever back in Portland. If you enjoy biking, the outdoors and a unique experience this is the excursion for you! PS - there is an option to visit a local pub at the end of the trip if one is so inclined!

What a great way to see the sights of Portland, England!! Way better than a bus tour!! - Peter and Michelle were really great! This was our favorite outing on our 10 day cruise. They were fun, knowledgeable and so kind. The bikes were great and although we are 65 and just average bike riders we were completely comfortable on this trip. They made sure that we were as safe as possible at all times and showed us spectacular sights of Portland. They treated us to lunch at a fun seaside restaurant… my cranberry Brie sandwich was awesome … and they treated us at an English Pub at the end of our journey. Michelle was so great about documenting our journey with great pictures that she shared with us at the end of the trip for no addltional charge. I would highly recommend taking this trip… we loved it! Wish I could leave a few pictures of our trip… but I guess I am not techie enough to figure it out.

BOOK THIS TOUR!! It's a MUST! - If you want to make the most of your time in Portland - book THIS tour!! Peter & Michelle are LOVELY tour guides, they will take super good care of you and you will absolutely LOVE this tour. My husband & I haven't been on bikes in DECADES and yet we felt 100% comfortable riding these bikes! Peter sends meet up/pick up instructions 1-2 days in advance of the tour, which were 100% spot on BTW (we came on a cruise ship). They spend time fitting helmets, letting you get used to the bikes, make sure the bikes fit "just right" for your size, etc. You will see more of Portland via this E-Bike Tour than any other tour option out there!! Lots of laughs, lots of sites to see & lots & lots of photos are taken on your behalf and then given to you at the end of your journey. You will feel 100% rejuvenated & 100% "alive" on this tour & 100% safe!! There is a nice lunch served (you get to choose your meal), plenty of "breaks" in between sites, we saw things "off the radar", there's no rushing, they provide water bottles, sunscreen, etc. (the things you don't think to bring!), and it's a WONDERFUL tour! You end at a local pub for a soft drink, beer or cider, but not before having the opportunity to see one of the most beautiful rock beaches EVER! WHAT A FANTASTIC TOUR!!!! If we ever go back to Portland, we most certainly will do this again!!! Many thanks, Peter & Michelle

No bus - This was probably the best excursion we did in Europe. We were never on e-bikes before so we gave it a go. What a beautiful day, it’s easy and safe. We saw more than any bus tour could give you. Peter and Michelle were so nice and friendly and enthusiastic with this trip. If you can ride a bike, go and take this trip.

Could have been better - our bikes broke down, even though they were new. needed to be picked up by one of the tour guides. felt as we were patronized as we were doing so good for our age. I ride 50 miles a week on the streets without an E bike and swim 3 times a week. Wife also rides almost daily and felt the same way. Strangely he was only a few years younger than my wife
