Highlights
  • Portland Castle - Portland Castle is the starting and finishing point and participants can either explore before or after the tour. You can walk around castle or go in and explore.
  • Portland Bill Lighthouse - Portland Bill Lighthouse has been standing majestically for the past one hundred and fourteen years at a height of 41 metres (135 ft). The distinctive red and white tower first shone its famous four flashes of light every twenty seconds on 11 January 1906 and had a range of 25 nautical miles which has guided passing vessels through the hazardous waters around Portland Bill as well as acting as a way mark for ships navigating the English Channel. You will be able to walk around or enter the lighthouse during the stop.
  • Tout Quarry Sculpture Park and Nature Reserve - Tout Quarry Nature Reserve and Sculpture Park is an abandoned stone quarry which has now been turned into a stone sculpture park. Now one of Portland’s most popular attractions, you can discover over 60 hidden sculptures in the Quarry, such as Anthony Gormley’s ‘Still Falling’ sculpture and enjoy the stunning views over Chesil Beach and Portland Harbour. The park is also a haven for nature especially for those with a love of wild flowers and butterflies. You can walk around and take lovely pictures.
  • Rufus Castle - Rufus Castle, also known as Bow and Arrow Castle, is a partially ruined castle overlooking Church Ope Cove on Portland, England. Its name derives from King William II, known as William Rufus, for whom the original castle was built. The existing structure dates largely from the late 15th century, making it Portland’s oldest castle. Built on a pinnacle of rock, some of the original structure has been lost to erosion and collapse over the years. At this stop you can walk around and enjoy the lovely scenery and we will also have lunch.
  • Cave Hole - Cave Hole is a large cave on the south east side of the Isle of Portland, a large peninsular in Dorset, England. It has a blowhole and a wooden crane, known as Broad Ope Crane on the cliff top. It is 1⁄2 mile (800 m) north-east of Portland Bill, has an interior measuring 50 feet (15 m) square and 21 feet (6.4 m) high. At this stop you can walk around and if lucky see the see water blown through the blowhole.
  • Chesil Beach - Chesil Beach in Dorset, England is one of three major shingle beach structures in Britain. Its name is derived from the Old English ceosel or cisel, meaning “gravel” or “shingle”. It runs for a length of 29 kilometres from West Bay to the Isle of Portland and in places is up to 15 metres high and 200 metres wide. At this stop you can walk along the beach enjoying the unique landscape. Please note that the duration of all tours are different because of so many variables, some groups like to stay longer at some attractions, others make take longer with lunch, others might cycle a bit faster or slower, etc. This makes each tour in its own way bespoke for our participants.

Great tour - This was an awesome tour! Peter and Michelle were so friendly and had great communication about everything. The tour itself was fun and informative. It was a perfect combination of biking and some hiking. The e-bikes are top notch. The isle of Portland is a beautiful and fascination little place and Peter did a great job of showing it to us.

Highly recommend - Phillip and Michelle were wonderful. Ensured all participants were safe and well-cared for. Even supplied cold water and snacks. Tour sites were beautiful and memorable. Would definitely recommend . . . much better way to see Portland (rather than a bus).

Best guided e-bike tour in Portland United Kingdom - Peter and Michelle arrangements were spot on. They met us at the agreed upon spot, got us orientated on the bikes and went through all the safety rules. We were off on one of our best tours ever. The ride was at a nice pace for all beginner and the experienced rider. The historical sites and information Peter relayed to us was fascinating. Michelle was always there to pump you up and aid in directing. The bikes were great easy to ride and very comfortable. The tour stops were spaced out just right with Peter always making sure you got on and off your bikes as well as helping with parking. Water and snacks were provided. As stated earlier best riding tour we have been on so highly recommend you go for it if you happen to find yourselves in Portland United Kingdom. Jeff and Karen from Ontario Canada

E-bike tour with Peter & Michelle - The E-bike tour of the Isle of Portland, the first stop on our cruise of the British Isles, is FABULOUS! The owners/guides, Peter and Michelle, are wonderful guides. They are knowledgeable, fun, funny, and have this tour planned perfectly! It was a perfect excursion away from the ship. 2 other couples from the ship were also with us and their company was fabulous as well. Highly recommend this tour! You won't be sorry!

Fantastic Tour - An amazing day with Peter and Michele. The communication before, during, and after the tour were top notch. After disembarking for our cruise, we took the shuttle to Portsmouth Castle where we were met by Peter and driven to the top of the island to begin biking. The orientation to the bike and dedication to safety were great. The tour lasted around four and one half hours and was just amazing. Historical background, countryside sheep, castles, fortresses, light houses, churches, and pirates: all the highlights expected of an island UK tour! If you love to be outside and see things off the beaten path - do this tour. It was worth every penny. Peter and Michele will not disappoint!

Fun and worth it - My wife and I not only loved this tour, but see it as a highlight of our 2-week trip. Peter and his wife, Michelle, were fun, supportive, interesting, and personable. The tour is the right pace and though we're both seniors, we were able to easily keep up with these bikes. We were going to just rent bikes and do this on our own, but looking back would have missed a lot. Peter knows the best trails and most interesting sites to get it all in. We're really glad we went with this approach. We hadn't used ebikes before, but had time to practice before leaving and found them so easy to use that we're looking into buying our own now that we're home. They're GREAT! This tour is well worth it.

Peter & Michelle will give you a wonderful time cycling around the village of Portland. Their hospitality is Top Notch! - Surprised that a bike tour would be my favorite excursion in the UK, but it was! These bikes do go fast, so make sure you are comfortable riding downhill, uphill, and on gravel!
