Dragon Pearl 1 Cruise - We were picked up from Hanoi directly from our Airbnb with no problems. Peter Doanh and the crew were fantastic. They were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. There were plenty of amazing activities and sooo much beautiful seafood. I highly recommend!

Great experience and top guide! - These two days with Indochina Junk and our guide Harry on the privatized junk (love) were great. The organization, the service, the welcome, the boat, the meals, the room, the activities... were of high quality. We highly recommend this experience 😍🤩

Exceeded expectations - I did much research and decided on this company for its unique itinerary into Bai Tu Long Bay, away from the crowds of ships in closer in Ha Long Bay., everything was first class, and well worth an extra cost above what some others might charge. I booked direct through the company which included transportation in a luxury van to and from Hanoi. Many others charged extra for that service. Food, cabin and activities were excellent.i would buy with them again

An exceptional tour of Halong Bay on a beautiful junk - We were on the smaller junk, the Dragon Pearl, and we had an amazing trip. The junk is beautiful with comfortable, well equipped cabins (including hot shower), a fab dining room and decks with sun beds. The activities were great and the food is plentiful and exceptional. What really sets this tour apart is the friendliness and efficiency of staff who looked after us so well. Halong Bay and the smaller and quieter Bai Tu Long Bay are simply stunning. A fantastic adventure.

The ONLY way to See Ha Long Bay - Do the 2 nights. That buys you just 48 hours on the ship. Take the Dragon Legend, the Gulfstream among Cessnas, the Bently among Volkswagons, the Harley among Hondas. The cost is only about an extra C note per couple over Dragon's Pearl which is like first class versus coach. We saw all the other boats, Signature, Legend, La Regina etc and they all looked modest compared to the Legend. Six star is the most luxe, it is 6 star, but it looks like a Russian Oligarch's yacht not a junk for cruising Ha Long Bay. And were told it sits in port most days. From the cabin to food to the guide and friendliness of the crew, everything is superb. The company has really been the pioneer of corporate social responsibility and has invested millions in building the sand beach where the kayaks are launched, installing lighting in the cave and proving plastic barrels to use as floats to replace the ecologically damaging styofoam blocks that had been used in years prior. I really believe their efferts to provide employment for local fisherman while improving the ecology of the Bay deserve patronage by the responsible visitor.

Bai Tu Long Cruise - There were only 15 people on the boat. The guide and staff were very friendly. The room was cosy but I travelled by myself so any the small size didn't matter. Food was plenty and excellent. I wouldn't recommend doing this cruise by yourself because it gets a bit lonely even though you're sat together with others, but for couples or small families it's definitely great.

Aging - Yes, indeed, the boat has charm but unfortunately a little too much in its juice and a little aging. The photos on the website are rather flattering compared to reality. The staff is rather very pleasant and good-natured. But I think there are plenty of other cruise ships for two or three days that are a little less decrepit

Disappointed - Staff and food - all great. Room ok, boat needs some maintenance (I would not call it luxury). What I’m very disappointed about is, that if you are on a 2-day tour, they’ll transfer you to another boat the second day because there are people on 3-day tours with you on the same boat. The second boat is, of course, much smaller, than what you paid for. The second morning, you have to wake up early, breakfast starts at 7, and you have max 30 minutes to eat, because you are leaving for the cave trip at 7:35. People on a 3-day tour have much more time, they can have breakfast until 8:30, and their (the very same) trip starts at 9:00 for them (when you get back from your trip). After the trip, we had only 20 minutes to pack, and at about 9:20, the crew was already knocking on our door to check out our minibar and transfer our luggage to the second boat. You have no time to even shower after the kayaking. Everything, starting with breakfast, was in a rush. It's called a "two-day" tour, but you'll actually spend less than 24 hours on the Dragon Legend boat. Then you’re kicked off like an unwanted package. I don’t consider it fair and definitely not a “luxury cruise." The way they treated us the second day was not adequate for the money we paid. Overall, it was an expensive disappointment.

Nice Ship But Flawed Experience - Took a 2 day 1 night cruise around Bai Tu Long in the Dragon Legend. The ship itself was generally quite nice, and the food was both plentiful and delicious. The bay was beautiful and we really enjoyed the kayaking experience. A couple of hiccups unfortunately made the experience less than ideal. Our guide rudely snatched my water bottle out of my hands at the harbor without a word and declined to further tell me (as I later learned) that they do not allow plastic bottles on the boat. When I gave constructive feedback (on a paper survey we were asked to fill out at the end) wishing he would be more patient and provide an explanation for his actions, he then made a large scene in the middle of the dining room during lunch and tried to loudly deny that he did it--making the already awkward situation even more embarrassing. The water in our tub also came out very dirty with nasty brown bits throughout--we couldn't use our tub. And, be warned that the company made us spend a lot of dead time at a pearl store both on the way to the bay and even again after a stop at the fishing village! I did appreciate that, once we returned to land, customer service was informed of my experience and they did apologize in a very sincere manner and I appreciated that.

They kept my deposit - We booked with dragon junk months ago. Unfortunately, there was an issue with our visa, and we weren't able to get into Hanoi to do the trip. It was a real bummer. The bigger bummer is they kept our $200usd deposit .... even though I contacted them the day before (when I found out Vietnam airlines wouldn't let us fiy). I reread all paperwork they sent, and there was no verbiage about them "using our deposit as cancelation fee" anywhere in the paperwork they sent. I used none of the services , so keeping 100% of my money is robbery.
