  • The Dresden Zwinger - What exactly is the Zwinger and what makes it so special?

Learn everything about the unique features of this building and the local baroque style of architecture in generell. Excellent Tour - This was an ideal tour for my first full day in Dresden. Thomas was friendly, enthusiastic, and informative. He provided our small group an over two-hour overview of the history and art of the city. He also gave excellent recommendations for restaurants. Highly recommended tour.

Very good and intersting tour to some of the "secrets" of Dresden's history. - The guide is very good and as he studied Arts and architecture (or something similar I think) he has a good eye for hidden treasures in the various sightseeing places that he brought us to. It is a very good and enlightening way of presentation and we really enjoyed it. We really recommend to use him as he shows some "real life" examples of that time and the society life of that era. We only would say one small thing that he claims that during DDR time (Soviet time) nothing was rebuilt and no effort was put in to rebuild Dresden and that is simply not the case. We checked afterwards and there is enough scientific information available that proofs that many restoration has been done under the "old regime" which afterwards was claimed by western Germany as their effort. We should stick to the truth - even if for some reason we don't like it maybe. That is really the only thing which we felt he could have been more precise. The highlight of his tour was obviously the façade tiles of the history of the Saxonian's kings and noblemen - where he explained some stunning and revealing details which we think are usually overseen but hugely revealing - you need to book him to find out !
