Spend an afternoon at The Shed - Fabulous experience at The Shed this afternoon. We really enjoyed the cafe with delicious food and the gin bar with exceptional staff, very friendly and helpful - especially Shane who served us in the bar. The stand out point for us were all the exceptional staff at The Shed - so welcoming and engaged with their customers. Would highly recommend a visit to The Shed for lunch and a G&T.

A quirky oasis in the village of Drumshambo - An absolute highlight of our trip, I've wanted to visit for a few years, being from Sligo. Our visit almost didn't happen after a number of car mishaps and a traffic jam in Carrick on Shannon, we arrived late for our tour flustered and stressed and the brilliant woman on the front desk (we didn't get her name, but she had blonde hair), let us slip in and join the tour discretely. We loved the bar and the complimentary drink that came with our ticket, including the non alcoholic version, as my friend was the designated driver. It was an oasis of calm from the rain outside. We both picked up a bottle of gin and other gifts in the well stocked shop and went home very happy. Would highly recommend to all gin and whiskey lovers, in the wonderful village of Drumshambo.

Make Sure You Visit If In The West - This is a great and interesting tour. Your guide was good fun and spoke clearly and enthusiastically about the subject. The little museum is hand crafted by the owner himself. I don't drink much myself but still found the distillation process fascinating. I went on a non busy Monday and got a deal. The food in the cafe was delicious. You start off with a short video. Then you see the rooms and the massive copper distillery vessels. You get a drink in the adjoining bar too. For real connoisseurs who are being driven there and back home you can opt for a tasting session. Well worth a visit.

Not to be missed! Great fun! - Luke conducted our tour and did a fantastic job. He was funny, informative and entertaining. We loved the sights / rooms on the tour and the tastings, especially the gin cocktail at the end. The gift shop was especially fun & we got a little carried away shopping. All in all, an unforgettable afternoon. We loved it!

A visit is an absolute must!!! - I have been to The Shed a number of times for the food (which is amazing!) but never did the tour of the distillery until now. Rory's Travel Club were offering a discount code so instead of paying full price, we paid €10 per head. It was worth it even at the full price! Our tour guide was fantastic, she gave clear and concise accounts of the history or the distillery and its founder PJ Rigney. We got to taste some of there single pot Irish Whiskey and even though I am not a whiskey drinker - it went down a treat. We then got to see PJ's 'room' full of weird and wonderful things from his trips abroad including the legs of the tables that were part of the staircase in the Titanic movie!! How cool is that!! After the tour we were invited for a complimentary cocktail - I recommend the Signature Cocktail. We went for Lunch in the Jackalope Café where we have been a number of times before and as usual it did not disappoint. You can't reserve a table but we have never had to wait too long to be seated. I promise you, you will enjoy whatever you have. Overall, I cannot recommend The Shed enough. The place is lovely and the staff even lovelier. As another reviewer said, it really is a under rated treasure in Lovely Leitrim. Just go!!!

11/10 - Probably the best tour I’ve ever been on. From arriving to leaving everything was perfect! Slight delay to the start of the tour but lead to the awesome cafe for a complimentary coffee to wait, excellent customer service. The tour with Shane was great, funny, very informative, and no BS; he’ll be kept. Whiskey tasting was great, glad to see a distillery not jump straight into the 3 year old whiskey wagon. Great cocktails at the end then too, followed by some great merch in the gift shop. We’ll be back for sure. Great job!!

Very good - Great tour. Lots of information overload to be fair. I thought we would be tasting gin but got whiskey instead. Got a gin drink after tour. Overall nice experience.

Guides with little knowledge and tasting a mess - The guide didn’t know what cask strength whiskey was. When asked why on 43% was bottled, the guide said it was illegal to sell higher ABV in Ireland…. There is only a minimum limit according to Irish law- 40% There were three whiskey drams. There was a lot of talk about the first dram and talk about the casks they use and then we had to rush out of the tasting room. Not a word about the other drams…. We could take them with us to the bar, but without discussion. It was said that water would bring out new notes… that happens in cask strength bottlings, but not in 43% bottlings to my knowledge at least. Consider that this is a 7 year old at 43% where several thousand bottles are produced, and the top of their line sells at EUR 123. In contrast, very good cask strength single barrel Scots whisky with an outturn of c. 280 bottles can be found for well under EUR 120. The drams were Ok but noticeably young and rough around the edges.
