Your morning begins with a pickup from your Dubai hotel. Settle into your air-conditioned 4x4 vehicle and journey south from the city, venturing deep into the desert. Take in the views of the barren landscapes and distant Hajar Mountains as your guide shares intriguing facts about the desert, its geography, and its inhabitants.

After approximately one hour on the road, arrive at the desert base, ready for the adventures ahead, and hop onto your quad bike for a tour. Listen to the safety briefing and driving instructions, put on your helmet, buckle up, and take a practice ride. Then, you’re off! Open the throttle and race along dusty trails, following your guide and enjoying panoramic views of the desert as you go.

Next, visit a traditional camel farm to see these stoic ‘ships of the desert’ that are cherished by the nomadic Bedouin people. Get up close to the camel enclosures to take photos of the animals and any baby camels in the herd. Then, climb onto a camel to tread the sands. Master the animal’s rolling gait with help from your guide, and learn how and why these magnificent creatures are the ideal mode of transport in the desert.

Having seen the sands from the back of a humped-back beast, try your hand at another popular desert sport: sandboarding! Grab one of the provided sandboards and ‘surf’ your way down the steep sand dunes like a snowboarder. Feel your adrenaline pump as you glide down the slopes and perhaps race your fellow travelers — it’s a thrilling experience!

Your tour concludes with your 4x4 journey back to Dubai and a drop-off at your hotel. Water and soda are available during the morning, but remember to bring a camera to capture lots of photos!
