Highlights
  • Dubai Museum & Al Fahidi Fort - Currently Dubai Museum is closed.

Dubai Museum is situated at the south of Dubai Creek, at the Al Souk Al Kabir area which teems with vigorous trade and is close to the Ruler’s Court (the monarch’s divan). It was built back in 1787, about 200 years ago, as the premises of the monarch and a fort of defence, since it sat on the border of the urban Dubai at the time. Later on, this fort turned into an arsenal for artillery and weapons. It was also used as a prison for the outlaws. This fort was renovated during the reign of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. It was opened in 1971 (the year the federation was formed), to be an official museum that displays the history of Dubai and its original heritage. In 1995, another underground museum was established and added to the old fort.

  • Bur Dubai Abra Station - The abras or ‘water taxis’ run every few minutes throughout the entire day across four stations along the creek. The first route goes from Deira Old Souk Abra Station (near the Spice Souk) to Bur Dubai Abra Station (west of the Old Souk). The second, much busier route runs continuously from Al Sabkha Abra Station (just southwest of Baniyas Square) to Dubai Old Souk Abra Station.
  • Jumeirah Public Beach - Jumeira Beach is a white sand beach that is located and named after the Jumeirah district of Dubai, on the coast of the Persian Gulf.
  • Burj Al Arab - One of Dubai’s most famous tourist landmarks, the Burj Al Arab often stands among the top five – if not the absolute peak – of the world’s most iconic hotels.

Since its opening in late 1999, the hotel with its distinctive sail-shaped silhouette, has thrust Dubai onto the global luxury tourism landscape. Built on a triangular man-made island reclaimed from the sea, the hotel and its billowing sail-like structure rise 321 metres above the sea, offering panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf.

  • Souk Madinat Jumeirah - Souk Madinat remains true to its Arabian heritage, meanwhile incorporating aspects of modern technology. It offers over 75 shops, galleries and dining outlets, with the added perk of views over the water. If visiting at night, the Souk comes alive with a variety of exciting music acts and plenty of activity.

Whether you’re looking for some boutique brands, homeware, fashion, jewellery or souvenirs, you’re bound to enjoy the search.

  • Atlantis The Palm - A Dubai icon, Atlantis, The Palm is the regions most Instagrammed hotel.
  • Palm Jumeirah - Dubai is globally recognised for its world firsts, and The Palm Jumeirah is an impressive example.

Viewed from above, the manmade island resembles a stylised palm tree, which was built from reclaimed land mass and a series of artificial archipelagos.

Palm Jumeirah is home to some of Dubai’s most luxurious resorts, including Atlantis The Palm, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, the One&Only The Palm and many more. It is also packed with fantastic dining options worth visiting, such as Nobu and 101 Dining Lounge even if you’re not staying at one of the many resorts.

The Palm is well developed – with roads, tunnels and public transport. So you can easily access the various hotels, restaurants and attractions on the island. You can also hop aboard the Palm Monorail that runs to Atlantis that sits at the helm.

  • Dubai Marina - Dubai Marina is an affluent residential neighborhood known for The Beach at JBR, a leisure complex with al fresco dining and sandy stretches to relax on. Smart cafes and pop-up craft markets line waterside promenade Dubai Marina Walk, while Dubai Marina Mall is packed with chain and luxury fashion brands. Upscale yachts cruise through the large man-made marina, where activities range from jet-skiing to skydiving.
  • Zabeel Palace - Visiting peacocks outside of the Royal Palace, aka Zabeel Palace, is a fun and free activity for your holiday in Dubai. We had a tour driver taking us around, but if you did have your own transportation you could simply drive up to the outskirts of the palace and look for where other tour cars are parked. Then just pull over on the side of the road and enjoy the peacocks!
  • Dubai Miracle Garden - The Dubai Miracle Garden is a flower garden located in the district of Dubailand, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The garden was launched on Valentine’s Day in 2013. The garden occupies over 72,000 square metres, making it the world’s largest natural flower garden featuring over 50 million flowers and 250 million plants.
