Off to the desert - great experience - We had booked the morning tour from around 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with camel, quad, dune bashing and sandboarding. Picked up at the hotel, the driver had announced his arrival via WhatsApp - all good. The passengers got on at the other end of the city - arrival in the desert at around 9.30 a.m. On site, you can upgrade the quad tour to a guided tour outside the fenced area. On site, we were first taken to the shop with the headscarves - these make sense in the sun - so the head, face and neck are well protected. Then we went straight to the 30-minute quad ride with helmets on - it was great. Then 5 minutes of camel riding and then into the desert with the four-wheel drive - that was great. A break in the middle of the desert for photos and sandboarding. A quick stop out of the desert to clear the sand from the car and refill the air in the tires. There are also things to buy in the small shop - including toilets. The toilets are tiled holes in the floor, though! There were chilled water bottles several times in between. Our driver Awais did a great job.

Red Dunes Morning Safari, dune bashing, camel ride... - Early wake up was tough but worth it, we avoided the heat. Rashid our guide picked us up at our lobby w a smile and answered every question we had. Kids are 8 and 11. they loved the dune bashing with Rashid‘s expert and safe driving. It was thrilling, high dunes and the jeep sliding sideways. Beautiful dunes. Sandboarding was not the easiest, but fun. My daughter sat on the board n slid down. Sunglasses were good to protect the eyes from the sand n the sun. Kids were hesitating and did not want to do the camel ride first, but once we were on the camels, they loved it. Rashid took a lot of nice photos of us. After camel ride we sat down for a snack- my husband loved the dates and my daughter and I finished a whole bowl of freshly made „lokma“ and we got to stroke a hawk and take photos with it too.
