exceptional tour - We all really enjoyed this Whiskey Tour and think the southern Irish whiskey industry has a great future. In particular John ,our guide had a great relationship with the distilleries especially the smaller ones ,who are trying to do something different to the larger brands.
We also loved to hear all about Southern Ireland and John had a depth of knowledge which was incredible.
I have already suggested to our three children and their partners that we consider a tour as the family next year as they will love it.

Excellent introduction to Dublin's Distillery Trail - This was my first trip to Ireland - my wife wanted to do some shopping, so I went on a private whiskey tour with John (junior) of Whiskey Island Tours & Tastings. John picked me up from my hotel and pointed out many Dublin land markers and provided a great history lesson during our afternoon together with private tours and tastings at three distilleries (Teeling, Dublin Liberties and Pearse Lyons). John was an excellent host and very knowledgeable in the finer points of Irish Whiskey. I had started to get a cold from the travel and rain earlier in the day - The various whiskeys were the perfect cure - especially the Dubliner Honeycomb Liqueur at the Dublin Liberties Distillery.

Five ⭐️ - Five star, white glove service from beginning to end. John was a pleasure to work with. He coordinated our tour well prior to our arrival and ensured that all of our questions were answered. Our group included one whiskey enthusiast and 2 of us along for the ride. We all enjoyed the experience. Gerry our driver picked us up from our hotel and gave us a lively narrative of all the historical landmarks on the way to our first distillery. There Teirnan our guide for the day took over and we visited 3 very unique locations. He was a wealth of knowledge of not only the whiskey but the history of each distillery and Irish whiskey in general. He provided us with the knowledge of how to taste the individual whiskey and to pick out all the individual notes of flavor. He provided a personal touch and it was unique to us. There was no rushing around. We learned and got to witness the actual production in working distilleries. Our teenager got a mocktail or soda at each location and was treated with such kindness. No lines and no rushing… really a fantastic experience and worth every penny. Highly recommend.

What An Amazing Adventure - Hi John,
Now that the dust has settled and we’re back to normal here in the states, I would like to tell you how great our trip was and you did an amazing job with all the places we visited, the accommodations, and especially Des our driver!
Des was so amazing and showed us some great villages and beautiful scenery. He took us to the locals pub for music and pints and was generally just a good person to hang out with.
The distilleries were great and even though they were making the same product they all had a different twist to them. Who knew whiskey could be so diverse!
Thanks again for sharing your amazing country with us!!

A whiskey education from an expert - I'm so glad we did this tour, it was my favorite thing we did in Dublin! Our guide, Karl, had an absolute wealth of industry knowledge, it was great to be able to ask him whiskey questions and get super detailed answers. For your money, you're getting a comfortable ride with a friendly and safe driver--thanks, Ray!--who picks you up and drops you off at your residence in Dublin, private tastings and tours at three distilleries, plus a friendly guide who stays with you the whole time and gives you a true education on whiskey, and not just the spirits you happen to be drinking at these specific distilleries. From the minute the car picks you up, you don't have to worry about any logistics, because your guide does all the arranging and talking to the distillery desks and knows where to go and when and where the bathrooms are. You can just chill and have fun.
You get so much more value than if you had just done these three distillery tours on your own. Having an additional guide who doesn't represent just the one distillery was priceless. I can't stress enough the degree to which Karl knew his stuff. You certainly get your money's worth even if you're new to drinking whiskey, but this tour is especially perfect for a whiskey hobbyist who comes prepared with lots of questions!

Truly a VIP Experience - We have been lucky enough to have two experiences through Whiskey Island, and are planning a 3rd for 2024!
Our first was in May of 2022. John Callely, the owner of Whiskey Island came to our hotel at our request. John facilitated a very high end whiskey tasting. It was a fully guided experience, taking in the story of Irish whiskey through the ages. The Irish whiskeys we tasted were collectors’ whiskeys that you’d really only find at auctions. This was a birthday gift for my husband and it was worth every euro. I also believe it is fair to note that I myself am not a whiskey drinker in general, and I loved every sip.
Our second trip back to Ireland was in February of 2023, and we did the Dublin Distillery Tour. This time we were guided by Colm who was also a perfect host. We took a deep dive into the rich history of whiskey making in Dublin (and the history of three Dublin Distilleries), while gaining a better understanding of the science behind how Whiskey is made. We truly felt like this was a VIP experience. We didn’t wait in a single line, or have to work our way through a single crowd. If you have an interest in Dublin Distilleries, this is the way to go!

Cheers for Irish Whiskey and Whiskey Island!! - We thoroughly enjoyed our fun and informative tour of and tastings at three very different whiskey distilleries in Dublin. John Calley Jr. was knowledgeable and engaging and his love for the history of Irish whiskey and The Liberties neighborhood was contagious. 3.5 hours flew by - HIGHLY recommend!
