A Plunge into History - Visiting this place was an incredible journey! It wasn’t just another museum tour where you just read about history—it was an immersive experience where you could truly step into the past. During the tour I met a bunch of colourful and intersting characters. The barber-surgeon, was both knowledgeable and entertaining, eager to assist with any "medical concerns" and share a fascinating history of medicine. The archer, not only demonstrated the castle’s defence systems but also shared a bit about the life of an archer, which was a highlight. And the cook was fantastic—explaining how absolutely nothing went to waste in the kitchen, from meat to bones, making it clear how resourceful people had to be. The interactive nature of the experience made history come alive, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn in a fun and engaging way. If you are in Dalkey or close by, I recommend visiting!

Really enjoyable visit to Dalkey Castle - Brilliant visit to Dalkey Castle with the family (grown up children of 20 and 18). We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It takes about 1 1/2 hours so you will be able to fit something else in around your visit. Historical facts were blended in a fun way with stories.

This museum is very well worth a visit. - The guided tour is very well done. You wont be disappointed. There are actors in period dress that explain the history and conduct interesting demonstrations. Getting to Dalkey from Dublin is easy. It is a 30 min ride on the Dart train from Pearse Station. Use you Leap card if you have one or pay for round trip at the ticket window. Its like 2 or 3 euros each way. Dalkey is. A quaint little town with many good restaurants as well. Its a short walk from the Dart station to the museum. One photo here shows one of the guests getting instruction on using the famous English Longbow

Definitely worth a visit. - This experience is well worth the money. The quick trip to Dalkey on the Dart is part of the adventure. We’ve done many tours in Ireland and this one was one of the best. It’s well worth going and experiencing.

Charming interactive castle tour - We were lucky to come across the Dalkey Castle History tour while spending the day in Dalkey. Booking was pretty easy online, and the staff was very helpful upon arrival. Our guide Brendan was really friendly and engaging, chatting with the group before starting the tour. The actors during the tour were engaging and funny, and gave us some insight into life in Ireland hundreds of years ago. Brendan took extra time after the tour to answer questions about various historical questions we had along with info about the area including areas to explore / hike. We also liked this tour because it was just the right length of time, leaving plenty of daylight to explore the rest of town. Pretty happy to have found the tour, and will definitely bring friends next time we are in Dalkey!
