You must see the Irish Famine Exhibition in Dublin - I found the Irish famine exhibition in Dublin very informative and helpful in understanding Irish history. Unfortunately this exhibition is not a permanent one. Whike there are a few famine museums outside Dublin, this is the only one I could find in Dublin. Thank you and I hope to see a greater focus on this significant period of Irish history in Dublin.

Bringing Irish History home - This is a most worthwhile introduction to a tragic and often overlooked period of Irish 19th century history. The 30+ information boards give a comprehensive yet concise insight into the causes and development of the Irish Potato Famine and the 15 minute video is helpful, too. This temporary exhibition runs until the end of September, so catch it while you can. You'll find it in the Stephens Green Shopping Centre, on the top floor at the far end (near the toilets).

This exhibition deserves a bigger and in a better location - We love history and this exhibition was PERFECT for us. Tons of informations on this self guided, very easy to follow tour. A lot of reading but there was also a video presentation. I suggest, go and watch the 15 mins video first if you are new to this bit of Irish history. This will give you a little bit of introduction before you dive in deeper into the exhibition. Definitely an eye opener and sadly similar events are still happening around the world in this modern days. I suggest, taking the Jeannie Johnson ship guided tour after this exhibition to learn more about the consequences of this famine era Ireland sadly had to go through.

Irish Famine Exhibit - Amazingly this is the only exhibit about the historic Irish Famine. It’s well done and concise, very informative about an event in history that should not be forgotten.

Irish Famine Exhibition Dublin - Great exhibition on the story of the Great Irish Famine. The only place in Dublin that does so. Artefacts and Iron Famine Pot on display. Nice documentary film also. Book can be purchased at desk

A deeply moving experience - Most of us have only a vague idea about the tragedy of the Irish famine or the Irish potato famine. This exhibit helps us understand part of Irish emmigration and other historical events.

Fascinating exhibition, sensitively presented - I learned a great deal about the topic. The exhibition covered many angles about the cause, effect and consequences. It was sensitively presented and had great impact by concentrating on the history and highlighting the conficting political and economic aspects. Impressed that the Quakers helped out with no strings attached. The most shocking imagw was the use of battering rams to demolish tenants' housing. It has taken 180 years for the population numbers to recover. Gerarrd was a mine of information.
