Pile Gate - Welcome to the historic center of Dubrovnik!

The journey begins at the Pile Gate with an introduction to the Republic of Ragusa and the remarkable way its people preserved their independence for many years. - Fort Lovrijenac - Here, the city walls and fortresses built by the people of Ragusa to protect the city will be discussed, along with the reasons for their construction. Please note, the tour will not include walking on the walls.
- Franciscan Church and Monastery - Upon entering the Old Town, some of the most renowned architectural examples will be encountered. Among them is the Franciscan Monastery of Dubrovnik, a prime example of Franciscan architecture in the city. Established in the 14th century, the monastery is celebrated for its understated elegance and its Gothic-Renaissance cloister. The intriguing history of Dubrovnik’s aqueduct system will also be highlighted.
- Stradun - As the tour proceeds along one of Europe’s most famous streets, insights into the earthquakes that have impacted Dubrovnik and the architectural responses to these events will be shared. Additionally, the history of Dubrovnik’s Jewish ghetto will be explained.
