The wine cellar is remarkable, housing seven barrels, each with a capacity of 5000 liters, filled with high-quality monastic wine. Wine tasting is optional but highly recommended, as some of the wines have won gold medals in major European competitions. At the time of writing, the cost is only two euros per glass. Visitors should note that the Orthodox Church has a dress code prohibiting bare shoulders and very short pants or skirts. You can bring your own pashmina, or one will be provided to wrap around your waist if needed.
