Additional Information

This relaxing half-day tour is the best way to experience the culture, history and domestic products of the southernmost region in Croatia. After visiting Dubrovnik’s natural highlights and best photo-points like spring of river Ombla, Franjo Tuđman bridge and Mt. Srđ, we will continue south along the coastline to the small town called Cavtat.

Spend some time exploring Cavtat before we drive further south into the Konavle valley and see why it has traditionally been the number one food producing region for southern Croatia. We will make a stop at Konavoski Dvori to see old mills that were turning raw produce into exportable goods for over 500 years and also we will visit the source of Konavle’s natural irrigation system, the River Ljuta. We will even see a medieval watchtower from 1391 named “Sokol” after the Croatian word for “hawk”.

Of course we will have a traditional Konavle lunch in Kameni Mlin a family restaurant where you will taste all of the local gastronomy.

World's Best Tour Guide - We have traveled fairly extensively and I can say, hands down, Matija is the best tour guide in the world. He listens to you, gets to know you and will suggest things that you will love but weren't aware of. Extremely knowledgeable, not just in the history, but the inner-workings of the modern area...and that means he's also very efficient. You won't be wasting your time in traffic instead of having fun somewhere if you just follow his advice. He's also a lot of fun! We hired Matija a few years ago and the biggest reason we went back to Croatia this year was to see him again. I can't give a better endorsement than that.

Incredible Bosnia experience with Bojan - We went to Bosnia and Herzegovina with Bojan during our anniversary trip at Balkans. We absolutely enjoyed every second of the trip. We felt like we were travelling with a friend whom we knew for years. Bojan made us feel very welcomed. He shared incredible historic insights during the trip. We even stopped for a great breakfast to try traditional Burek. Despite of having a long day he was very enthusiastic and took me to all the places I wanted to see in Bosnia. On the way we stopped at Ston and on the way back we went to see a beautiful traditional village. During the heat of the noon, we enjoyed chilled cold juice at a cafe I wanted to visit in Mosrtar. Bojan even found that cafe for me. He was so kind that whenever we were thirsty or tired we had everything ready from coffee to cold water to quench our thirst in a hot summer afternoon. My husband and I will remember this trip forever!
