Highlights
  • Dubrovnik - Start your day with a pickup from your centrally located Dubrovnik hotel, and then travel with your private guide to the small town of Ston on the Peljesac Peninsula. As you travel, chat with your guide about the scenic south Dalmatia region and the sights that you particularly want to see. Your itinerary is flexible so if there’s something you want to see more of, simply let your guide know.
  • Ston - After roughly an hour on the road, arrive in Ston and stretch your legs on a walking tour of the pretty coastal town. Pose for pictures by the so-called Great Wall of Croatia – Ston’s major claim to fame – and hear how it is said to be one of the world’s largest fortified city walls.

The Peljesac area is rich in natural resources, with salt and wine lauded as the peninsula’s biggest exports, so visit the town’s old salt factory and hear tales about the pure salt harvest.
Enjoy a break for lunch in town (own expense) and then return to your minivan to continue your tour.

  • Peljesac Peninsula - Travel along the undulating coastline of Peljesac Peninsula and, in between gazing at the turquoise Adriatic Sea, stop at three family-run wineries to sample their wares. Plavic mali is the region’s principle grape and, while your wine samples vary on each occasion, chances are that you will taste several made from the ubiquitous grape. Snacks such as artisan cheese and bread are often served alongside the wine.

If you want to learn more about southern Dalmatia’s cuisine, then perhaps swap one of your winery visits with a seafood-tasting session at a coastal fish farm. Sample fresh local oysters or mussels while learning about the region’s renowned fishing heritage.

After exploring the region and sampling its fine produce, return to your minivan and travel back to Dubrovnik. Your tour finishes with a drop-off at your Dubrovnik hotel.

Beautiful tour with beautiful wine - Ivan was so wonderful! He was very knowledgeable in wine and Croatian history. He was one of the reasons it was so wonderful. We stopped at 3 wineries each for 45 min and then stopped in Mail Ston for a beautiful seafood lunch at Bota Šare. Thank you for providing a wonderful experience!

Best driver ever!!! - We had the pleasure of meeting Drazen when we arrived at the airport. We enjoyed our drive into Dubrovnik and were able to request him later in the week for the tour to Ston and the wine tasting. We had a rainy start but he made the experience fun nonetheless. He even suprised me with a birthday dessert at the restaurant at which we had lunch. We had a different driver (also awesome) for our transfer back to the airport. In the early hour of our departure, my husband forgot to return the hotel key. He walked outside of the airport to phone the hotel and who did he run into? Drazen himself, he had just dropped someone else to the airport. He told him what happened and Drazen gladly said he would help. He took the key and said he would return it to the hotel later in the day. He wouldn't take a top for his trouble either. A very friendly guy who went above and beyond at every turn. We can't say enough good things about Drazen. The tour was also fantastic and the wineries were lovely. We wished we could have seen more of Ston but with the rain it just wasn't possible.

Great day out - I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see some authentic Croatia and it is a definite for wine-lovers. Drazen our driver collected us promptly from our hotel at 9am and we sped off in the air conditioned minivan into the Croatian countryside towards our first stop. Drazen is fantastic; very knowledgeable and friendly, well presented and speaks excellent English. The first stop was the ancient city of Ston where we spent approximately 45mins. During this time we visited the Salt Works (separate review) and milled around the shops and bars. We didn't have time to clime the famous Ston Walls but they were clear to see from the little town. We subsequently visited three vineyards in total (the quality of which got better as the day went on) to taste a mixture of whites, reds and rose all from the peninsula. For lunch we returned to Mali Ston (Little Ston) for lunch by the river in a little fish restaurant. The day ended at around 530pm when we were dropped back at the hotel. This was a great day out and I would highly recommend the tour provider.

Highly recommended - We were one of three couples, the other two staying in Dubrovnik. Our guide/driver Drag?? From Bosnia, sorry can't remember his name, was great, a good driver, informative and laid back. He picked us up in Cavtat on time at no extra charge after we had booked the tour in Dubrovnik. We visited Ston with its wall equivalent to the Great Wall of China. A lovely place to go for an hour or two. Then on to three wineries, all very different and interesting. We liked the first one best. He then gave us some options and we all plumped for a delicious meal at an oyster and mussel farm area, not cheap but great food. The day started at 8am and he dropped us off after 7pm. An amazing and informative day made better by our guide. Would highly recommend this trip.
