Situated in the southeastern region of Albania, Korça holds the distinction of being among the country’s paramount cultural and economic hubs.
It’s characterized by its unique neighborhoods made up of quaint villas and low-rise houses, all adorned with cobblestone pavements. Korça is also home to a variety of museums including the Education Museum, housed in the very same building where the first Albanian school was inaugurated in 1887. The revamped National Museum of Medieval Art is also located here, along with the Prehistoric Museum, the estate-turned-museum of renowned landscape artist Vangjush Mio, the “Bratko” Museum of Oriental Art, and others. Not far from the city you’ll find the resting place of French soldiers who lost their lives during World War I.
