Highlights

Enjoy a journey to the Roman ruins in Algeria, located about an hour’s drive from Algiers.

Our first stop will be Cherchell (optional), a town founded by Phoenicians from Carthage around 400 BC. Situated on the northern Maghreb coast, 100 km west of Algiers, it was established as a trading post.

Cherchell became part of the Kingdom of Numidia under Jugurtha, who died in 104 BC. It served as a significant city for the Berber monarchy and its generals.

Next, we’ll head to the port of Tipaza for a lunch of grilled fresh fish, which is included in your tour package.

When it was part of the Roman Empire, Tipaza was known for its ancient ruins and sandy coastline. The modern town, founded in 1857, is notable for these historical remnants.

Originally a Punic trading post, Tipaza was conquered by Ancient Rome and transformed into a military colony by Emperor Claudius for the conquest of the Mauretanian kingdoms.

After our visit, we’ll drive back to Algiers and drop you off at your hotel.

Fantastic 3 1/2 days in Algiers and surroundings - Great 3 1/2 days with Houda in Algiers and the surrounding area, where all spontaneous requests were perfectly met. The itinerary was discussed individually in advance via WhatsApp. From arrival to departure, everything was perfectly organized, extremely informative, and she answered even the most unusual questions in perfect English and in an extremely interesting and friendly manner. Absolutely recommended!

Friends of Algeria! A serious and prepared agency - Excellent combined tour, of Tipaza and Algiers. Having only one day available, I wanted to fill my eyes with many things! Algeria was a pleasant surprise. I recommend everyone to visit it for its many attractions. And above all to turn to Wassim and his staff with confidence. Thank you Ahmed who satisfied me in all my goals.

Pleasant day trip - Tipaza is a pleasant getaway with its beautiful Mediterranean setting. It’s an easy day trip from Algiers. Our guide was thorough and engaging allowing us time to wonder and soak the views. You can also enjoy seafood at the many restaurants in town. Nearby is also the unique Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania. Thanks Wassim.

Informative intriguing day. Great service great tour. - We had an excellent day with Ahmed. He had encyclopaedic knowledge of the history and context not just of Tipaza, but of the wider story of Algeria. This made the car trip to and from the site (from Algiers) a real pleasure. We loved the fact that he was so passionate about his subject, and so generous in answering our (many) questions which ranged from French colonialism to the detail of Tipaza as a Roman site. Tipaza is a romantic and beautiful place, the sea was stunning and clear the day we went and you should plan for paddling! Ahmed had a great sense of community, we met several of his colleagues from other companies and got chance to hear a few of their stories before we headed home. Everyone spoke English, French, Arabic and other languages too, and Ahmed was kind in helping me improve my pigeon Arabic.... The photo below is the mausoleum, which we visited on the way back.

Covering two thousand years of history in a weekend - I've been to other North African countries, but the level of knowledge, professionalism, transparency, blows everyone else out of the water. Wassim is extremely knowledgeable. We not only covered historical topics but I also learned about some good flights, how to find the best ticket price, what are the best items to buy in Algeria. We covered many topics and spent the day like old friends. Algeria is a safe and beautiful country with a lot of history. It is incredible to see old Roman ruins in Africa. Wassim has many other tours and I hope to see more cities in the future. Thank you Wassim for a safe and memorable trip.

Beautiful - Beautiful site but it is sad to see waste on a historic site. Symbolic Admission Award 130 for adults and free for children. Guide is required to understand the site we paid 3000 Dinars. At the end a boat ride is possible from 2000 to 7000. Attention stroller not practical
