Hotel Departure - Commencement of Hiking Adventure
Tetebatu - Your hotel in the Tetebatu region will serve as the starting point for our pickup service. From there, we’ll begin our climb to the Crater Rim Tetebatu, setting out from the village of Tetebatu which is situated 700 meters above sea level. Our journey kicks off in the Monkey Forest, a local attraction in Tetebatu populated by various monkey species. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to observe both Black and Gray Monkeys in their natural, expansive habitat. This vantage point also offers a clear view of Mount Rinjani and Mount Sangkareang, our ultimate destinations.
Following a 30-minute trek from the Monkey Forest, we’ll venture into a thick forest where the trail is untouched and natural, offering a cool environment due to the dense canopy that blocks out the sunlight. After trekking for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, we’ll take our first break at a site known as Pondok Belanda or the Dutch huts, which historically may have served as a resting spot for Dutch travelers before they continued their ascent to the Sangkareang Summit and Lake Segara Anak. We’ll then proceed to the Tetebatu Rim where we’ll camp out for the night in tents.
Mount Rinjani National Park - Upon reaching the camping ground, we’ll spend the night in tents.
Hike to Rinjani’s Secondary Peak (Mt. Sangkareang)
Mount Rinjani National Park - With an early start at 04:00 am, accompanied by coffee or tea and a light snack, we’ll embark on a hike to Mt Rinjani’s secondary peak, Mt Sangkareang, standing at 3,200 meters above sea level. Also known locally as Mount Sangkareang, the hike from our campsite will take roughly 2 hours. Upon arrival at the secondary peak, we’ll witness the sunrise, enjoy the stunning panoramic views, savor hot beverages and biscuits, and capture the moment with photographs.
