Join us in an exciting exploration of Melbourne’s whisky and gin scene, interwoven with captivating stories of shipwrecks, illicit bars and distilling restrictions from our vivid history to its contemporary craft culture.
The journey commences at the State Parliament, where you’ll step back into a historical era filled with tales of prohibition, covert bars, shipwrecks, and Sherlock Holmes connections while sampling gin in an ancient brick cottage that was once a hub for smuggled spirits.
Following this, a brief walk will take you to Melbourne’s pioneer whisky bar, offering a vast array of smoky single malts, sweet Highland whiskies and smooth Scottish blends.
The odyssey concludes at one of the city’s finest bars - a secret distillery!

Whiskey and Gin Tour - We really enjoyed our Whiskey and Gin tour, great mix of people. Really enjoyed the Boilermaker Bar and the Little Lon Distillery and Alba new her stuff.

What a great afternoon... - What a great afternoon tour! Very informative and entertaining to hear about the history of whiskey and gin in Australia. The secret bars had lots of character and served really good gin and whiskeys. Mer was delightful and gave a very memorable tour!

Gin and Whiskey Walking History Tour - We went on the Gin and Whiskey Walking History Tour. Six of us did this tour for my husband's 50th birthday. Alda was our guide and was very knowledgeable on the history of the area we toured. We went to 3 bars that we (as locals) had never been to before and we loved every single one... we did a tasting flight at each bar and got to try quite a few whiskeys and gins. Our guide pointed out other bars that we want to go back and try out. I would recommend these tours whether you are a local or a visitor to Melbourne. My hubby had an unforgettable birthday.

Whiskey and Gin tour with Alda Saturday December 18th, 2021 - Alda was entertaining , displayed charisma and knowledgeable
.We visited places in the City near little Lonsdale Street .

Ripper tour - Absolute ripper of a tour. Ben was very accommodating running the tour for us and Lenny was a brilliant guide and wealth of knowledge about the production of Whisky and Gin and with great stories of Melbourne's drinking history. We have walked pass some the venues many times and never knew they were there.

Informative and memorable night out - Ben took our small group through the laneways of Melbourne to discover some amazing whisky and gin bars. Fascinating, well-researched stories along with a tasting of some excellent spirits has given e a new appreciation of Melbourne's history and current standing in the gin and whisky world. Highly recommended

Whiskey and Gin History tour - I was on this tour with a friend for his birthday present. The tour guide was very informative and had lots of information about the history of Melbourne distilleries. We went to 3 bars and although everyone on the tour were whiskey lovers we had more Gin than Whiskey. I was a bit disappointed as we thought we were getting a whiskey tour. If you like Gin this is definatley the tour for you.

Decent spirits, but not as advertised - The TripAdvisor page for this tour says snacks were to be provided, but none were provided. The attendees asked politely about these missing snacks a few times but no explanation was forthcoming. So we drank on empty stomachs for 3 hours. One attendee was sick.
