• Korouoma th L - Hiking in Korouoma Canyon and in Ranua Zoo.
  Car transfer from Rovaniemi takes about 1,5 hour. Moderate hiking. Korouoma is 30 kilometer long and up to 130 meters deep canyon fracture valley. Canyon and its high cliffs form a breathtakingly landscape to enjoy throughout the year. Korouoma is located at the Region of Koillismaa in Southern Lapland. The area’s landscape is exceptionally rugged and grand. Several 30 meter steep streams freeze during the winter forming huge ice formations, offering fantastic views and play of colours. Great place for making nature pictures all year around. Moderate hiking. Hot berry juice offered during hiking.
  Right after hiking we will go to Ranua Zoo. Transfer time is approximately 1 hour.
  This about 2,5 km walk in the magical forest will allow you to meet many animals and birds that can be found in the arctic areas. The zoo is outdoors, so prepare yourself with adequate clothing. The excursion suits for the whole family. There are some sleds available for smaller children, in case they get tired of walking.
  After the visit You’ll have buffet lunch and some free time for shopping in the small boutiques. Transfer back to Rovaniemi 1 hour.

The journey by car from Rovaniemi takes roughly 1.5 hours, leading to a moderate hiking adventure. Korouoma is a 30 km long and 130 meters deep fracture valley canyon. Its high cliffs and canyon create a stunningly picturesque scene to behold all year round. The terrain here is distinctly majestic and rough. Several 30-meter high streams freeze in the winter, forming vast ice structures that provide spectacular sights and color displays. Moderate hiking follows.

Immediately after hiking, we will visit the Ranua Zoo, which is about 1 hour away.

You’ll have the opportunity to encounter numerous Arctic animals and birds during a roughly 2.5 km walk through the enchanting forest. The zoo is open-air, so ensure you’re appropriately dressed. This excursion is suitable for all ages.

Following the visit, you will enjoy a buffet lunch and have some spare time to shop in tiny boutiques, including Fazer chocolate and local wine shops.

The return trip to Rovaniemi will take about 1 hour.
