Beautiful views on a long day - We chose to do this tour during the one day we had while transiting to Galapagos. Jessica (tour guide) and Javier (driver) were excellent. We had arrived late the night before (only about 2 hours of sleep) so they were very accommodating - they gave us great information about the area while we were awake and spoke softly among themselves while we napped. They rearranged the order of visit to increase our chances of seeing Cotepaxi - which paid off wonderfully. The day does have lots of driving but that is unavoidable to see both sights in one day.

Day Trip to Laguna del Quilotoa - My day trip with Jose and Daniel was fantastic! We explored a charming town, full of local culture and friendly people. The scenery was beautiful, and I loved learning about the area's history and traditions. It was a memorable experience, and I highly recommend visiting this charming town.

Seeing the volcano crater... - Seeing the volcano crater was great, as were the sites seen driving through the Andes. I wish I had realized how much of the experience would be driving before choosing to do this excursion over something else. It's a lot of time in the van, not so much time at the actual location. But our guide was well versed in the history of the area, and a fantastic driver (because the traffic is crazier than New York city).

Beautiful Volcanoes - Overall great experience. Quilotoa was fantastic. The scenery was stunning. We hiked into the crater and took a boat ride on the beautiful lake. From Quilotoa we went to Cotopaxi National park. Cotopaxi was also stunning. Got to hike around the lagoon and see the different flora and fauna. The Volcano was striking. The guide was super nice and very accommodating. However, we did not have a lot of time at Cotopaxi because the electric car that the guide showed up in ran out of juice and could not be recharged due to Ecuador's unreliable electric grid. We had to get a different vehicle. If it wasn't for this I would have given this tour 5 stars.

Lack of professionalism, dirty car, rushed itinerary specially for private tour at high coat - I have booked many tours through Viator and always check reviews before booking, but this experience was extremely disappointing. Our tour guide, Luis (the owner was Diego), picked us up from our hotel in a small, dirty sedan—dusty mats and all. Given that we had a long day ahead, I requested a different car. After much hesitation, he agreed and drove us to someone’s house to get another vehicle. While this one was slightly better, it was still far from clean or comfortable. From the start, the tour felt disorganized. It seemed like the owner hired a freelancer who was left to plan everything on their own. Instead of taking a direct route to Cotopaxi, the guide took a longer way, and when we finally arrived, he refused to let us get out of the car. He claimed that if we explored Cotopaxi, we wouldn’t have enough time for Quilotoa. This was completely different from what was promised in the itinerary. Instead of allowing us to walk around and experience the area, he rushed us through, only stopping briefly at the first lake—where, again, we weren’t allowed to get out. His attitude throughout the trip was rude and dismissive, as if he had no interest in showing us anything. As frequent travelers, we could clearly sense his unwillingness to accommodate us. At one point, I wanted to cancel the tour altogether, but knowing we wouldn’t get a refund, we decided to continue. When we finally reached Quilotoa, the lake was stunning—the only highlight of the day. My husband had to insist that we stay for at least an hour, despite the guide repeatedly pressuring us to leave, claiming it would take four hours to return. In reality, we got back to our hotel in less than three hours. To make matters worse, the guide made multiple unnecessary stops—for food (which we never requested), for gas, and even at a car repair shop—while we remained stuck in the vehicle. Despite paying for a premium private tour, we were rushed through the main sights and returned to our hotel earlier than scheduled, having barely experienced what we paid for. This was, by far, the most expensive and disappointing private tour we’ve ever taken. Save yourself the hassle and avoid booking through this company .
