Experience in Cotopaxi with Irene - An incredible experience in Cotopaxi a quite challenging climb as I am from the Dominican Republic and the height hits hard but the guide Irene accompanied me all the way to my rhythm and giving tips, even low with me hand in hand. Irene was the perfect guide for me, without her motivation and patience I wouldn’t have made it, besides she shoots very good pictures.

Hard but worth it - What a great experience, hiking from 4500 masl even just a few hundred meters elevation gain is hard but the view is worth it. Our guide Irene was very supportive and encouraging. She also has so many info about the tour and about Ecuador.

Epic day out - Epic day of hiking at Cotopaxi. Our guide, Irene was awesome! She looked out for all team members whilst on the hike and gave us sound advice on altitude and breathing techniques. The day was handled professionally with all our meals being booked in advance and ready to eat on arrival. Irene was very professional and knowledgeable on local information and added a lot of humour into the day. Jimmy was a very efficient and friendly driver. Would highly recommend

Aimed at lazy gringos ... - We did the tour somewhat begrudgingly because it was the cheapest way to get up Cotopaxi. The actually hiking itself is only about 2 hrs and the rest of the time we got shuttles between one restaurant and another, with the clear intention being to spend as much money as possible. If you're a lazy American tourist who doesn't speak English and can't navigate themselves up a short hike, this is for you ...we felt like walking ATM machines. Cotopaxi itself was amazing, but if I did it again I would just rent a car or pay a local to drive me up.

A private tour would have been preferable for an English speaker - I booked this tour as it states bilingual guide. I was the only English speaker amongst 14 Spanish speakers and I felt I was missing out on a lot of interesting information. The guide (didn’t catch his name) was very pleasant and did say to me I could ask questions separately however he would give the others a 5 minute explanation of things then about a minutes worth to me. Also the driver then dropped me a distance from my hotel as they cannot drive down the relevant street and sort of pointed where I needed to go - a bit disconcerting for a single female in the dark. Plus my seatbelt didn’t work which wasn’t exactly reassuring on the Cotopaxi road! In hindsight I would have booked a private tour and would have enjoyed my day a lot more.
