  In the morning, our Egypt Best Vacation tour guide will accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle to Edfu, where you’ll see the most complete and well-preserved temple in Egypt, adorned with stunning granite statues of the falcon god Horus.

The Ptolemaic temple is dedicated to the falcon god “Horus.” The reliefs that adorn the walls, columns, and doorways of the temple are a crucial source of information about ancient Egyptian religious and political beliefs.

Among the most fascinating of these reliefs is the story of Horus avenging his father Osiris’s murder by Seth, an event that was annually re-enacted in the temple.

Other reliefs detail the stages of the temple’s construction and provide dates for the completion of various building elements.

After concluding our tour of the Edfu temple, we will proceed to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, you will visit the unique double temple dedicated to the Falcon god “Haroeris” (the southern part) and the Crocodile god “Sobek” (the northern part).

This temple was also built during the Ptolemaic era. The scene on the inner face of the rear wall of the temple is particularly intriguing and likely depicts a set of surgical instruments.
