High-quality beers, but started very late, served by rude staff - My wife and I joined this event for our wedding anniversary. We were supposed to join the other event, but it was announced with the wrong date, so we ended up joining this one. The founder/CEO apologised for the mix-up and promised us a bonus of 1-2 beers. The event started almost half an hour late. It turned out that we had to wait for other participants who were late. It was such nonsense as if our time was not precious at all. We understand that it wasn't exactly the brewery's fault, but they could have announced it in advance that participants shouldn't be late, or they could have prepared a different strategy (like just starting the whole event and explaining separately later to those who were late). What kind of business promised a certain start time but was late for almost half an hour, and without giving the rest of us (who arrived on time) anything (snack, beer, etc.)? We also had to wait even longer between the beers that were served as part of the event. We thought we wouldn't have to wait for everyone else, that we could be at our own drinking/tasting pace. All the staff were very friendly and polite, except one - the one who actually guided/explained to us about the event. For some reason, she never made any eye contact with us while clearly making eye contact the whole time with every one of the other participants, so at first, we thought she was a homophobe. But when we finished and politely said goodbye, she smiled and answered my wife but obviously turned her face away from me and didn't even smile or answer me back (she had nothing else to do and no one asked for her). Because of this, we now know why she treated us differently; it seems like she's racist (I'm not white unlike all the other participants including my wife). Also, we never received any of the bonus beers that were previously promised. Based on all these, I personally want to give zero out of 5 stars. But my wife and I decided to give 4 stars because of how much she actually loves the beers from the event/brewery. It is truly unfortunate for such a high-quality brewery to employ such rude staff, to badly organise such a unique event, and for the founder/CEO to make empty promises to customers.
