Great introduction to Edinburgh! - This was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Edinburgh. We took this tour on our first day in Edinburgh and it was a great introduction to the city and its fascinating history. And of course, we also were introduced to some wonderful places for dining later. We covered a lot of ground from the Old City to New City, and our tour guide, Katherine, was very knowledgeable. She was so helpful in pointing out key places of interest, giving us the lay of the land, and sharing with us interesting facts about Edinburgh that we otherwise would not have known. The places we stopped to eat along the way were so interesting and diverse, giving us a wonderful taste of the city's food scene. While all were very good, our favorite, by far, was Rabbles with the exceptional Scotch egg and Scottish Mac and cheese. We went back again for drinks as it has terrific cocktails. Highly recommend this tour to others -- whether it's your first or return trip to Edinburgh.

Great first night in Edi - Our guide was fantastic and knew the area really well. The tour was set up in a way that helped us get to know the area on our first night in town. The meals themselves were easily accommodated for the people in the group that had dietary needs or preferences.

Lots of good+ lots of stories= a great tour - Tilly, our tour guide, was excellent. She was knowledgeable, interesting and very personable. She shared history in a fun way that really made the tour great. The food stops were good and food and drinks were plentiful—more than we could eat actually. Come hungry and be adventurous!

Great guide and tour, but please be aware of all the stairs and walking required. - Sara, our tour guide was great. She was extremely thoughtful, knowledgeable about Edinburgh, and made every effort to make the tour comfortable. The two stops that we went to were interesting and well thought out. The tour had a reserved table at each of them. We had an issue with the itinerary/layout of the tour. From the meeting point to the first stop, we traveled over a mile up and down dozens, if not hundreds, of stairs. For my wife who walks with a cane, this was just too much. After the second stop, we bailed. Sara offered to call us a taxi to the third stop, but we declined. She then ordered us extra food at the second, and our last, stop. This was incredible thoughtful and gracious of her. The additional food was very good, too. A sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and a cheese plate. I know that these tours mean to be a combo walking/history tour and food tour, and it's clear that stairs in Edinburgh are unavoidable, but the first leg really seemed excessive. There was another couple that joined the tour at the first stop, and we wish that had been an option for us. We think we could have done the entire food tour that way. I'm hopeful the tour company will take this into consideration for others in the future.

Okay. You could do this in your own. - This was nothing special. On the second stop, we had to share one small portion if the haggis! I would not recommend. The alcohol pairings were small and only at two stops.
