WOW!!!! - What a wonderful yet creepy tour. Shannon was an absolutely wonderful storyteller. Top notch. Kept everyone engaged in her stories. Didn’t appreciate hearing the rocks being stuck together or the smell of fish in the last vault but HEY, guess the ghosts had other ideas for me Thank you Shannon. Great job!!!! Loved it!!!!!

Really good spooky fun - We took the ghost tour on a whim as we were walking around Edinburgh and I’m so pleased we did. It was fun, informative and just spooky enough. Our tour guide Veni was excellent. Funny, clear and knowledgeable. We felt like we were a big group of friends taking the tour and not complete strangers. Would totally recommend anyone to take one of these tours when in Edinburgh. Thank you.

Great tour with great staff - The staff are so friendly and the tour was very interesting. Headphones are provided so you can hear the guide easily over the noise of the Royal Mile which really helps.

History, Ghost Stories & the Paranormal In Edinburgh - The Mercat Tours - evening of Ghosts & Ghouls Ghost Tour ( with stories & drink). What a sensational tour. Our guide Martin was superb . He was filled with fascinating & ghoulish stories, sprinkled with a touch of humour, about Edinburgh’s past and his enthusiasm was contagious. The animated descriptions of Edinburgh’s (at times) gruesome history were captivating. The walk through the vaults under the bridge were spooky & intriguing as Martin explained the history of the vaults, how they came to be there & how they were used… and the unexplainable things that occur down there👻 Overall the tour was excellent.. topped off with other creepy tales & a whisky( other options available) in the cellar. Was a highlight of our trip to Edinburgh. Highly recommend!!

Fab ghost tour - We had a great time, there was just myself and my husband doing the tour so we had our guide Shannon all to ourselves. I had worried that because English was second language for my husband he might struggle but Shannon was so animated it helped it come to life for him, the headsets were a bonus too but luckily we didn’t need them as it was just us.

Hooky - Was pretty hooky, would not recommend. Take a more informative tour, there would be more interesting facts about the vaults.

Not brilliant due to staff eagerness to sell tickets. - Possibly an entertaining tour if you want a ghost tour.....we didn't!!! Although we were still put on this tour.....Staff did not seam to listen to our original request. We particularly wanted a historically correct tour not one with jumbled mismatched information and fictional ghost stories. Staff were polite and helpfull but make sure they are understanding what you require from your tour. The vaults were interesting but would have been more so with historically correct information rather than sensationalist fictional stories designed to thrill rather than educate.

Disappointed and Underwhelmed - We paid for a small group tour but there was close to 15 or more on it. It was crowded and uncomfortable. We found this tour really disappointing. In the attempt to make stories interesting and lively - they came across silly and far less interesting. The price for a one hour presentation was steep especially when the time in the vaults was max 20 minutes. We found this tour underwhelming.
