Additional Information

Join us for an exclusive exploration of Edinburgh’s ancient Old Town. We’ll discover the locations where J. K. Rowling found her muse for her world-famous Harry Potter series. Starting from the renowned Royal Mile under the gaze of Edinburgh Castle, we will explore ‘Diagon Alley’ and visit an authentic graveyard to see the final resting place of ‘he who must not be named’. We will also delve into the locales where Rowling initiated her writings and the luxurious surroundings where she wrapped up her tales.

Following my graduation in Tourism Management from a local university in Edinburgh and my extensive experience working in Scottish tourism, I am thrilled to serve as your guide. My final year Thesis paper focused on the impact of the Harry Potter sensation on Scottish tourism.

All tours maintain small group dynamics - each group contains no more than 10 people.

Fun Harry Potter walking tour for all ages! - Kat is FANTASTIC!! She is knowledge, friendly, engaging, great with all age groups— I’ve hired Kat twice to do student group tours. [American high school kids from the US] Kat took us all over Edinburgh, and it was a blast. Affordable. You’re welcome in advance.

Personalized and Perfect - Kat was an excellent guide. She got to know our family, shared both historical facts and Potter lore, and offered great insight. She paced the tour for the mobility needs of our family, she helped us take silly photos, and shared fascinating stories. We took this tour as our first event of our visit to Edinburgh and it was a great introduction to the city. Highly recommend!

Great tour! Highly recommend! - Kat was wonderful. Despite a rainy day she made the entire experience special and even had wands for photos near a certain famous grave! She gave great recommendations for local used bookstores and was a fantastic tour guide! HP lovers should definitely enjoy her tour! Plus many who don’t live HP!

Magical Kat 🔮✨✨✨ - The Harry Potter tour with Kat is simply magical!!! Within an hour you really dig deep into the saga and into JK Rowling’s writing process, in connection with the history of the city itself and its fascinating misteries. You can tell that Kat is very passionate about taking people around and talk witchcraft at Hogwarts, plus she is very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend the tour to any HP fans but also to people who just want to approach the saga! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Highly reommended for true HP fans - Kat is super passionate about HP, she literally has a masters in the subject. I was lucky to have a private tour (sheer luck) and it was totally worth it. Kat also clicked my photos (although I look a bit fat in them, but that’s not her fault). I highly recommend this tour to all HP fans visiting Edinburgh. Especially if you’re a books over movies kind of fan, skip the expensive studio tours and do this real, authentic experience and see Edinburgh through JK Rowling’s eyes.
