- Mercat Cross - As the group strolls along the Royal Mile, they will explore some of the city’s ‘closes’ and learn about the purposes of these narrow lanes. A stop at the Mercat Cross will reveal its historical role in public announcements and punishments. Can you spot the unicorn perched at the top?
- St Giles’ Cathedral - Positioned in front of the Mercat Cross, St. Giles Cathedral will be the next highlight. The guide will discuss the architecture of Scotland’s most significant church and delve into the history of the Presbyterian religion. The tour will also include a walk to West Parliament Square to discuss the Act of Union.
- Writers’ Museum - Leaving St. Giles behind, the tour continues along the Royal Mile. - There will be 3 set of steps and 2 steep paths along the route.
- The tour will take place on the outdoor areas of the castle. After the guided visit you will have the time to visit the roofed buildings and the museums
