Don’t be mistaken into thinking that New Town means a modern area of Edinburgh. The origins of the New Town can be traced as far back as 1767 when the foundation stone was first laid. We call the architecture of this era Georgian as it relates to the reign of Britain’s then Kings, George III and George IV.
During your tour find out who was fortunate enough to be able to afford to live in the elegance and splendour of the New Town. We will contrast this with one or two of the surrounding areas before finishing off the tour with fantastic views from Calton Hill.
- Please note that this tour operates as a private tour only. We believe this is essential particularly whilst social distancing measures are in place.
- We will follow any COVID-19 measures that are recommended by the Scottish Government at the time of your tour.
