- Yellowcraig Beach - Yellowcraig Beach is a natural cove offering stunning views of the 1885 lighthouse on Fidra Island, which is said to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson’s ‘Treasure Island.’ It’s a family favorite, featuring an adventure playpark and a network of nature trails.
- North Berwick - This former royal burgh is a seaside town located on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, about 20 miles (32 km) east-northeast of Edinburgh. North Berwick became a popular holiday destination in the 19th century due to its two sandy bays, East (or Milsey) Bay and West Bay, and it continues to attract visitors. Spend your time wandering the streets, strolling along East Bay beach, or visiting the Scottish Seabird Centre to learn about local wildlife.
- Tantallon Castle - Tantallon Castle is a ruined fortress from the mid-14th century, situated 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) east of North Berwick. Perched on a promontory opposite Bass Rock, it overlooks the Firth of Forth. As the last medieval curtain wall castle built in Scotland, Tantallon features a single wall blocking off the headland, with the other three sides naturally protected by sea cliffs. The views across the Firth of Forth are breathtaking.
- Seacliff Beach - Seacliff Beach is a private beach with a small sandstone harbor, a surf spot, and prominent views of Bass Rock and Tantallon Castle. While here, take a short walk from the beach to the ruins of Auldhame Castle, located on a ridge above Seacliff Beach.
- Athelstaneford - Our final stop is the small village of Athelstaneford, known for its connection to the Scottish flag. According to legend, the original Scottish saltire—a white diagonal cross on a sky blue background—was first adopted here. A visit to the National Flag Heritage Centre will provide more insight.
