Highlights
- Midhope Castle - We stop at Midhope, Outlander’s Lallybroch, in Summer only (Apr-Sep)
- Blackness Castle - We continue onwards to Blackness, home to Blackness Castle. In Outlander, Blackness Castle is used as the set for Fort William, the headquarters of Black Jack Randall.
- Linlithgow Palace - We stop in Linlithgow with time to explore the small town. Take photos of its palace, the setting of ‘Wentworth Prison’ in Outlander.
- Culross War Memorial - Claire’s Herb Garden and the Mercat Cross of Cranesmuir Village
- Hopetoun House - We then stop at Hopetoun House for the opportunity to explore inside the house; which features in Outlander as the Duke of Sandringham’s home.
- South Queensferry - We stop for photos at South Queensferry before returning to Edinburgh.

Experience a single day journey exploring the shooting spots of the acclaimed television show, Outlander. Take a tour of fortresses, palaces, and mansions. Discover Linlithgow Palace, which served as Outlander’s Wentworth Prison; view Blackness Castle, the base of Black Jack Randall, and wander through the Royal Burgh of Culross, the setting of Claire’s herb garden; amongst others!
- Minimum age is 4 years old.
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or a full refund.
- Midhope Castle is open Apr-Sept only
- Collapsible wheelchairs with removable wheels can be accommodated providing the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them board and disembark the bus.
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately.
- Digital translations in English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian & Mandarin available on request.
- Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before your tour’s departure time.
- Please note from October 2024 this tour will have a new itinerary, which will visit the following places: Tuilyies Standing Stones, Culross, Doune Castle, Linlithgow, Blackness Castle, Midhope Castle (in Summer) Forth Bridges (in Winter and when Midhope Castle is not accessible)

Great tour with Candace! - We took this tour as a way to get out of the city of Edinburgh and see a few famous attractions, and it did not disappoint! What a wonderful day we had with our excellent tour guide Candace. She was kind, patient and knowledgeable, making the day a pleasant one on the road. Lots of beautiful sights to see!

Great Outlander Experience, Awesome Tour Guide :) - The Outlander tour was so well organized and well-paced. We covered so many spots within such a short time but didn't feel rushed. Just loved it!
Mark, our driver and guide, was awesome! He is a great storyteller and we enjoyed listening to him. He is very enthusiastic and passionate about the history and culture of Scotland which made our tour even more special. He was with us most of the time and helped us take photos and find important Outlander filming spots within the castles.

This one-day bus trip exceeded my expectations! - Our tour guide, Alistair, was knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly. He provided fascinating insights about the history and culture of all places, making the trip both educational and enjoyable. Hes enthusiasm was contagious, and he was always ready to answer questions.
Each stop was well-timed, giving us ample time to explore without feeling rushed.
This one-day bus trip exceeded my expectations. It was a well-organized, enjoyable, and enriching experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore Outlander places in a day.

Spectacular Outlander Tour - Gillian did an amazing job. She kept my husband and me entertained and informed despite some rainy weather. The music, stories and recommendations were spot on. We highly recommend this tour.

Incredible Day Trip - What an absolutely lovely day. From the gentleman at the checkin to our delightful tour guide/ driver, Paul. We enjoyed seeing and experiencing all the stops. Outlander viewers and non viewers would enjoy the history and countryside seen on this tour. I highly recommend this day trip!

Thank you GARY ❤️ - It was our 9th tour with Timberbush but also our second one with Gary!! We had him as our driver-guide more than 4 years ago and it was so amazing to have him again! He is still a very friendly, funny, cool and full of knowledge driver-guide! We had a wonderful day with him, thanks so much to him for all these memories, he is an amazing driver-guide ❤️

Great for outlander fans! - Really good overall! It would be a 5 star tour for us if the only thing you are interested in is the outlander locations. If you have an interest in the history outside of outlander, there is not enough time to get all of that information. Andrew T and Wendy were great tour guides! They were super informative and really nice to chat with. Had a great time!!
