• Edinburgh Castle - Edinburgh Castle is a historic fortress located in Edinburgh, Scotland. Perched on Castle Rock, it has been inhabited since at least the Iron Age, though the specifics of the early settlement remain unknown. A royal castle has existed on this site since the reign of David I in the 12th century, serving as a royal residence until 1633. From the 15th century, its role as a residence diminished, and by the 17th century, it primarily functioned as military barracks with a significant garrison. Recognized increasingly as a vital part of Scotland’s national heritage from the early 19th century, the castle has undergone various restoration efforts over the past 150 years.
• Palace of Holyroodhouse - The Palace of Holyroodhouse, often called Holyrood Palace or Holyroodhouse, is the British monarch’s official residence in Scotland. Situated at the lower end of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, opposite Edinburgh Castle, it has been the main royal residence in Scotland since the 16th century and hosts state events and official functions.

The Palace originated as a guest house for Holyrood Abbey, to which it is adjacent. The palace gardens are part of Holyrood Park. The Queen’s Gallery, located at the western entrance of the Palace, was opened in 2002 to display art from the Royal Collection.

• Calton Hill - Calton Hill is a volcanic hill located at the eastern end of Princes Street. It features several of Edinburgh’s significant monuments and provides stunning panoramic views of the city. In the 19th century, Edinburgh was dubbed the ‘Athens of the North,’ and Calton Hill was likened to the Athenian Acropolis, complete with classical revival architecture.
• Arthur’s Seat - Arthur’s Seat is a prominent rocky summit that offers spectacular views over Edinburgh and is surrounded by extensive parkland, providing a peaceful retreat from the bustling city.
• Stirling Castle - Stirling Castle, perched high above what was once Scotland’s capital, is a formidable fortress with parts dating back to the 14th century. It has endured eight sieges, many during the Wars of Scottish Independence.

With three steep sides, the castle occupies a strong defensive position on a crag overlooking the city of Stirling. Stirling is centrally located in Scotland, 26 miles northeast of Glasgow and 37 miles northwest of Edinburgh.
