Charming tour for curious people - This tour was so interesting and fun (weird to day for a graveyard) but I do love how pretty the place was and it was amazing to get to know little curiosities of the people burried there for hundreds of years. The guide was wonderful, had the perfect voice and drama to go about this tour and also very friendly and charming. Not to say, knowledgeable (thanks no doubt to his very obsessive and curious cousin). Highly recommend!

Great fun! - Absolutely fabulous tour! The guide is genuine and VERY knowledgeable. One can tell he really loves all things history. Also super amusing. We’ve been in the city for a few days and felt we’ve seen most of the sights, so we picked this one to have sth to do on the last day. An easy walk around the graveyard with plenty of fun facts. Absolutely worth it!

Informative, Funny and Excellent value for money! - Our Tour guide was called Robin Mitchell, he was a mine of interesting information about the Graveyard. I had been on a tour of the same Graveyard a few years ago however Robin's tour beat it hands down. Robin has been conducting tours for quite a few years now and his experience and knowledge showed. He knew lots of additional info about the people who were buried in Greyfriars as both himself and his cousin David had carried out in depth research into their lives. Robin could answer most of our questions and for the ones he didn't know he provided links to the answers via email after the tour, you don't get much better service than that! Robins style, although informative was also very amusing and many of the stories he told led to themes which came up several times at different graves, we all enjoyed it very much. Robin personalises his tours depending on what the participants are looking for and one of the people on our tour wanted to see the grave names that were associated with the Harry Potter books and she was very pleased with how he structured the tour. This didn't detract from the tour for my group as he peppered the Harry Potter graves in between visiting/talking about the graves of several prominent Edinburgh figures of the past, he is an excellent story teller. All three of us appreciated the time Robin took and all of the extra effort he had clearly put in to make the tour as unique and interesting as possible. It was so good that as we usually go up to Edinburgh at least once a year we will book the tour again to see what additional insights Robin has to offer!
