A Night of Whiskey and Stories - what could be better? - From the moment we were greeted by our host, Alasdair, to the time we emerged this couldn’t have been a better start to an Edinburgh holiday. Hot Toddy is a lovely venue and the purpose built basement room was the perfect setting. A fantastic choice of whiskeys from four different regions were paired perfectly with engaging tales from Scottish history and folklore. I actually don’t want to say too much - it’s all about the experience, and this was a joyful experience.

Whisky & Yap ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - We just did a whiskey tasting with Alastair and it was so much fun. He’s a natural-born story-teller and we learned a lot about the world and history of whisky. I would 110% recommend to anyone visiting beautiful Edinburgh.

Give it a go! - Max was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and engaging, great sense of humour. Not the biggest whiskey fan and can’t say I left as a huge fan either, but still happy I gave it a go! Would highly recommend.

Interesting evening experience - We had a great time with Alasdair as he took us a through a brief history of whisky intertwined with tidbits of Scottish history (the two being inseparable) and explained to us the differences between Scotland's whiskey regions illustrated by the tastings of four distinctive single malts. Whatever your taste for whisky, you'll find at least one you'll love. Great way to relax and enjoy some scotch!

Fun evening out in Edinburgh - Our story teller and host for the evening, Allister, was great. I learned a lot about Scotch whiskey 🥃 and Scottish history. By the second taste we were all talking and sharing what we thought about the drink and some shared other places visited in the city. I found 2 that I really enjoyed. I opted for the haggis dinner - I had to do the full experience. Looked different than traditional images I have seen. I’m glad I took the risk. It was actually quite nice. The staff at the Hot Toddy were very friendly and helpful.

Everyday is school day - This is a great way to experience a whisky tasting! Our host Georgia was excellent at teaching us the best way to taste and enjoy whisky, she gave us plenty of recommendations of her own favourites and places to visit. The step up is great and really relaxed and I really enjoyed the tales! Highly recommend!
