- Fossen Bratte - Also known as Brudesløret, Eikedalsfoss, or Brattefossen, Fossen Bratte is a significant waterfall near Bergen, located on the route between Bergen and Norheimsund in the Hordaland region. While Steinsdalsfossen is the primary attraction in the Bergen area, drawing many visitors, some find Fossen Bratte even more awe-inspiring. The name Fossen Bratte translates to “steep waterfall,” which is fitting as the Eikedalselva River plunges down a single drop of 79 meters.
- Steinsdalsfossen - Situated in the municipality of Kvam in Vestland county, Steinsdalsfossen is one of Norway’s most frequented tourist destinations. From the parking area, a path leads along the waterfall, up a hill, and behind it, allowing visitors to walk dry-shod “into” the roaring water. Steinsdalsfossen stands 46 meters (151 ft) tall, with a main drop of 20 meters (66 ft), and reaches its peak volume when the snow melts in May and June. It is part of the Fosselva river, which originates from the lake Myklavatnet, located 814 meters (2,671 ft) above sea level in the mountains above the waterfall. Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany visited Steinsdalsfossen almost every summer from 1889 until the outbreak of World War I in 1914. The waterfall was formed in 1699 when the river carved a new path.
- Hardangerfjord - The Hardangerfjord ranks as the fourth longest fjord globally and the second longest in Norway. It is situated in Vestland county within the Hardanger region. The fjord extends 179 kilometers (111 mi) from the Atlantic Ocean into Norway’s mountainous interior along the Hardangervidda plateau. Around 8,000 BC, the Scandinavian landmass began to rise as massive glacial ice melted. This caused the lower parts of the valleys to flood, creating what is now known as the Hardangerfjord. The valley was originally shaped not only by glacial erosion but also by high-pressure melting water that forced its way beneath the ice.
- Hardanger Bridge - The Hardanger Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Eidfjorden branch of Hardangerfjorden in Hordaland county. It connects the municipalities of Ullensvang and Ulvik, replacing a ferry service between Bruravik and Brimnes, thus reducing travel time between Oslo and Bergen. It is the longest suspension bridge in Norway, measuring 1,380 meters (4,530 ft) in length, with a main span of 1,310 meters (4,300 ft).
- Voringfossen - Vøringsfossen is the 83rd highest waterfall in Norway based on total fall. Located at the top of the Måbødalen valley in the municipality of Eidfjord, it has a total drop of 182 meters (597 ft) and a major drop of 163 meters (534 ft). It is arguably the most renowned waterfall in Norway and a significant tourist attraction on the route from Hardangervidda to Hardangerfjord.
- Skjervsfossen Waterfall - Positioned on the road between Granvin and Voss, Skjervsfossen features twin falls cascading from a height of 150 meters. Skjervsfossen offers a well-organized network of paths, stairs, viewpoints, rest areas, picnic spots, and parking facilities. The waterfall experience varies depending on your position along the falls, the weather, seasons, and water flow. At the base of the waterfall, you can encounter the “Shower,” a stunning scenic area where you can feel the waterfall’s immense power coursing through you. As the name suggests, you might get drenched if there has been heavy rainfall.
