Feel the ancient wind - This time I visited Ekbaram and Cenote guided by Heliberto. Climbing and walking around the ruins was difficult because it was just hot, but the panoramic view from the top was unobstructed and I could see what was going on around the temple at that time, when it would have flourished. The explanation of heli was also enthusiastic and I learned a lot. After that, we took a photo in Cenote, had lunch (which Helli chose because you wouldn’t know it if you looked at the Mexican menu) and stopped by a direct tequila restaurant on the way, although it wasn’t part of the tour. I was able to taste it and buy souvenirs. It was a fulfilling day.

Ek Balam and Oxman Cenote adventure for family from Wisconsin! - We went with our family of my husband and I and our 5 young adult children. Israel was our guide and he was absolutely fantastic from the start of our day at 6:30am until we returned to our hotel around 3:45pm. He was so kind and friendly from the start. He shared lots of history with us on our drive to Ek Balam, but allowed us to just listen to music and enjoy the views from our van as well. He answered all of our questions and allowed us to have just the right amount of time climbing around the ruins. It was very hot so having all the water bottles chilled in a cooler on the van was great. We then drove to the Oxman Cenote which was so far the highlight of our trip for me! It was stunning! We had so much fun swinging from the rope swing and swimming in the blue/green water. It was not crowded at all so we didn’t have to wait very long or at all for our turn on the rope swing. We then drove to Valladolid and enjoyed a delicious lunch that Israel had pre-ordered for us, however we did get to choose what we wanted to eat from a nice selection. The restaurant was nice and cool (I believe it had A/C) and was so charming!! Very authentic Mexican food was enjoyed by all. It was such a treat to eat with Israel. He helped us out with many small details all day long. We were all quite tired after our adventures and enjoyed a quiet ride back to the resort with lovely music playing in the van. We would recommend this tour highly! Thank you Israel for a wonderful day of family memories!

Amazing view from the top! - This is my third time using this service, and although each guide is different, they are all unique and fun. The tour guide, Heriberto, is very kind and explains exactly what we need to know in English. He adjusted his pace to suit us, even with the steep slopes and stairs of the ruins. Also, the cenote was a little murky so we didn't swim, so he also stopped at a tequila factory on short notice. We drank so much there that we had to have more. He took a lot of photos for us, so we were very satisfied. I would like to use this service again when I come to Cancun.

excellent private tour of lesser appreciated but really cool ruins! - Israel was really nice and had lots of great insights about Ek Balam and the mayan history of the Yucatán! He helped us have a great tour without the crowds, took us to a beautiful cenote, and was the only person who could tell us how deep it was (60 ft!). Definitely take a private tour to limit your travel time and maximize the fun stuff!

Wonderful guide and wonderful tour!! - My Quest was a well run company great to work with. From start to finish our tour to Ek Balam and a swim in a cenote was the highlight of our trip. Our driver and tour guide, Aranza, was professional, polite, very personable, and just made our whole day worth every penny. Thanks Aranza! Aranza arrived early so we didn't have to wait for him; on our drive he was a wealth of information about not just the history of Ek Balam, but also the history of the Mayan culture. That's what you get when you have a guide with a masters degree in history and one that has had the opportunity to live in multiple countries. We did have a lunch included in our tour so we stopped at a restaurant in Valladolid called Paladar de Cura. OMG! Excellent food in a beautiful colonial city. Definitely try the native Mayan dishes. For those in the LGBTQ community, my husband and I also felt very welcome and appreciated, but I feel that's how this company and their guides treat all their clients. In closing I just say BOOK IT! You won't be sorry.

Ek balam awesomeness - Holy Moly what a day!! We had Gerry as our guide to Ek Balam, Cenote Chakum and Valladolid. Incredible doesn't even cover how great of a day we had. Ek balam is so amazing. Being able to climb the acropolis (definitely a work out) and see the surrounding jungle was wild. The ruins are so well maintained with original paint and stucco still in pristine condition. Gerry was a wealth of information and provided a truly unique experience. He was able to answer all of our questions quickly and clearly. We never felt rushed as we wandered the grounds gaining a feel for the city it once was. Being able to actually go into the rooms and climb the stairs of all the different structures was so cool. Next we headed to the cenote for a much needed cool off. Wowza. We'd been to a few, but this one. Something else. We loved the different jumping platforms and the zipline was a favorite of the boychild. But the crystal clear blue water that nearly looked fake against the stalagmites. Gorgeous. Lunch was at a little Mexican place in Valladolid called Paladar de Cura. We had Gerry just order what he thought was best and man o man, so good. 100% recommend. We had a variety of tacos and dips. After lunch we had some time to wander around Valladolid before heading back to our hotel. All in all a FANTASTIC day. We at no point felt rushed and were encouraged to explore and relax as we went. Gerry was great right from the word go. 100% recommend.
